I took this last week in the early morning. Lighting was awesome for

awhile, but then got too harsh. I was fortunate enough to get

several "keepers". You are more likely to see purple galinules

skittering across lily pads, than climbing through the brush munching

    on the vegetation.

I believe this is a juvenile yellow crowned Night Heron, but can't be

certain. As always, comments, critiques and ratings are

    appreciated, Thank you

Lighting was right this morning and my little friend stopped by and

stayed long enough to get some nice clean shot. Here's one of

them. Thank you for your comments.

I've been trying to get a good shot of this bird for a month now. It

alway seems to be either half-hidden or in bad lighting. This is one

of the better shots so far. Let me know what you think. Thanks,

There are only about 600 silverback gorillas known to exsist.

Photographed with Canon EOS 7D w/ Canon EF300mm f4L IS USM

    lens. Thank you for viewing.

Good color and clarity. I believe more space on the right side of the image would make for a better composition since the bird is facing in that direction.  Well done.

  1. I totally agree with Christine.  You have a nicely composed image.  If you shoot in raw you may be able to adjust the darks enough to bring out the details in the head and neck areas.  You might also try adjusting the levels in Photoshop.
