I agree with you, your version looks better. I had a problem trying to lighten the eyes, what technique did you use?

Thanks for taking the time to view and comment my photograph.

Thanks for sharing Ryan.
This is a nice shot, I like how it gives such a open sense of space. I would suggest that you try to bring a little bit of colour into the top right of the shot as this will help balance it and create less of a distraction (I found my eyes wandering up there a few times). This is a good shot!
All the best!

This is a nice shot, good composition. This photograph demonstrates great use of space. What I find is that the brush and and branches at the bottom is pretty distracting and I think this photograph would be greatly improved with a crop and maybe saturate the sky a bit to bring a more dramatic aspect into it.
I hope this helps, all the best!

It is a tad blown out in the center of the photo, I've had a tough time correcting it, but I'v got it down to that (whitch is much better than it was before) I have been trying your technique to overlay the "middle" (by middle did you mean the normally exposed shot?) and I am liking the effects it is giving me. Thank you for taking the time to comment and I appreciate you sharing that information with me.

This is an ice sculputure I found on my walk abouts in downtown Calgary, I used
two off camera speedlights that were manualy fired for the lighting and colour
effects.

I am relatively new to HDR and I think I have got the hang of it, but I feel like this
picture could be a little bland, please let me know what you think, how I could
improve it, where my strong points and weak points are. Thank you very much for
your time to comment and view.

First off, i want to saw great photograph. The colours in this shot are beautiful. It is very well composed and the DOF is wonderful. I also really like that off in the distance it is a tad bit hazy, it creates a sence of great distance and space within your shot. Thank you for sharing.

This photograph is absolutely beautiful. It has a very peaceful feel to it, I really like how the long exposure smoothed the clouds and water, it gives it an almost "fantasy" feel. Great job.

Just looking for some input, comments and suggestions. Thank you very much!

I have a look through your portfolio, and when I saw this one it really caught my attention. I like how it has a serene feel so it, it gives me the feeling peacefulness and seclusion. What a great shot! Well composed, it doesn't have any elements that are too distracting and it doesn't take your away from the over all image.

This is a great shot and it would make a beautiful HDR. I would suggest shooting between 5 to 9 images consecutively, starting at normal exposure and using your exposure compensation to over expose and under expose by 1 step increments. With some tone mapping and more experimenting you will be well on your way to creating beautiful HDR's. One more suggestion I have is shoot HDR's of inanimate objects to start, as people or any other moving objects can cause your alignment to suffer and you will end up with funny edges on objects. I am a big fan of HDR as it can produce beautiful surreal images, and they are challenging to make. All the best and keep up the good work.
