Thanks for the feedback folks!

The Central Terminal in Buffalo, NY was the main train station in the city
until its closure in 1978. Photo was converted into period B &W because
every building visible in the photo was built circa 1880-1920. Few cities in
the U.S. have as many surviving older buildings as Buffalo. Please see my
Central Terminal folder - thank you!

The Central Terminal in Buffalo, NY was the main train station in the city
until its closure in 1978. Designed by the same architects as Grand Central
Station in NYC, it is currently being stabilized as we look for a possible
adaptive reuse project for it. This picture is of the room where the rail yard
was controlled from.

As you know the area that I photographed will be transformed this summer as part of the harbor project. I figured I might as well document what will disappear shortly. By the way this actually is not HDR, though I would have reached the same conclusion if I wasn't the photographer! Processed this into B&W in Silver Efex Pro - an excellent program. Thanks again for your kind comments.

Thanks for taking the time - it's much appreciated.

Perhaps we could give it a name?

Actually this was a pre-Mardi Gras parade a few weeks ago. Steve

Dror,
You may be shocked to learn that many people in the Buffalo area feel that they are rather ugly and should be torn down. Preservationists and citizens fight an on-going battle to make sure they survive. That's one reason that I and many fellow photographers try to get the word out about them.
Your kind comments help motivate us to make sure that they survive.
Regards, Steve

Glad you enjoyed the shot.
The 24-105 works for most shots. I also use (all Canon) 70-200mm L 4.0, 50mm 1.4 and 10-22mm 3.5-4.5. Generally one of those will give me a chance of capturing a decent picture (unless "human error" intervenes!)

Clear, unambiguous message I would say.

Thank you for viewing this photo and offering feedback.

A lesson for all - "Watch where you point that thing!"

As I was preparing to photograph my wife, two of NYC's finest park rangers moved in for the arrest - of me! Note the playground in the background. The men in green were evidently concerned that it was all a ploy for me to photograph a child. I got off with a warning.

Thom - Thanks for your kind words. Glad that you enjoyed it! Steve

Erik and Larry,
I really appreciate both your comments. As a newcomer to photography I really need good cogent criticism and both you gentlemen have provided it.
Erik - In retrospect I probably should taken the photo from ON TOP of the hill in the foreground. Regards - Steve
