1.
Hi Guys,
I was in the process of ordering the D700 last week and getting some general and advice from the sales guy, amazingly he told me I should wait until the D800 is released later this year, not sure what to do now?
2.
Hi Eric,
Thanks again for advice. I don't actually own either a D700 or Nikon - 17-35mm F2.8 AF-S but I was thinking of renting them for this weekend with a view to buying later on this year. Would the combination above be enough to get me through this Christening shooting in RAW and doing a bit of post processing. I have offered to do this for a friend and want to make sure the images are great.
Your comments would be welcome again.
3.
Hi Guys,
Are all the lenses below full frame if they do not have the DX initials on them? (Compatible with the D700?)
Nikon - DX 12-24mm F4 AF-S
Nikon - DX 17-55mm F2.8 AF-S
Nikon - 17-35mm F2.8 AF-S
Nikon - 14-24mm F2.8G AF-S
Nikon - 24-70mm F2.8G AF-S ED
Nikon - 28-105mm F3.5-4.5 AF-D
Nikon - 70-200mm F2.8 VR AF-S
Nikon - 70-200mm F2.8 VR AF-S MK II
Nikon - 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 VR AF-S
Nikon - 80-400mm F4.5-5.6D ED VR
Rentals seem to be quite reasonable but I would be picking the camera up on Friday evening and shooting Saturday morning, am I going to struggle to get to grips with the D700 straight away?
Stephen

 4.
Thanks for all your comments, especially you Eric. I was thinking of updating some of my camera equipment this year anyway and wonder if it may be time to rent out before buying. My budget is pushing me towards the D700 and that full frame Nikon 17-55/2.8 seems like the standard of lenses I need for the inside of this church. The shots will be fairly organised and no real moving subject, definitely no flash though so going to have to to the best I can without it.
I going to try Calumet shortly to see the costings for rental, more advice appreciated.
5.
Hi,
Happy Easter to everyone.
I am going to be doing the photography at a christening soon, I will be taking pictures in the Church which I am told is fairly light, what I wanted to ask is what is the widest aperture, shutter speed and ISO setting I can go to on my D80 with the f3.5 kit lenses to avoid quality loss and camera shake but good exposures, I will be also shooting in RAW to help with a little post production.
Many thanks
6.
Hi
Can anyone recommend a beginners book for Photoshop CS3. I have no experience with this at all.
Help greatly appreciated.
Merry Christmas
7.
Hi Guys,
I probably should of made myself a bit clearer but I actually own a D80 but will be renting the D700 with a view to buying one in the New Year. I think it is clear that the D700 would be the choice because of the sensor and ISO ability but wouldn't a fast 2.8 of some sort also help the objective as well, I can understand people saying the 85 or 50 prime 1.4 or 1.8 but I will be standing at on the edge of a hall/dining area?
Many Thanks

 8.
Thanks for your help guys. I have also had a comment that a Nikon 70-200 F2.8 on a D700 would very much help me because I will not have time to use a tripod?
Does this seem reasonable?

 9.
Hi,
I have been asked to shoot an event where there is going to be just dinner lighting and I need to be inconspicuous when taking pictures so will probably need a zoom lenses but wanted to ask the following advice;
1) What would be the best lenses for a D80 or D700?
2) Because I am going to taking shots some distance away is it worth taking a flash?
3) Could I get away with my D80 kit lenses (3.5, 18-70 and ramp up the ISO further than 1600 because they are only going to appear on the Internet and very unlikely get printed?
4) Price advice would be great as well.
Many Thanks
10.
Hi,
This is my first post here. I have recently been the photographer at a few of my friends weddings which I thoroughly enjoyed, I have always thought about taking my hobby further and would like to enter this field in the next 12 months. I currently own a Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-35, Sigma 10-20, Nikon 50 Prime and an SB900.
I have spoken to some Pro photographers and now am being advised to buy a full frame camera. My thoughts are the Nikon D700 which seems to retail at about £1,800, however, if I am doing this should I stop now buying lenses for my D80 and can I buy full frame lenses for my D80 that will work on a D700?
Many thanks
Stephen
