Is it necessary to remove the top plate to adjust the rangefinder on
an M6/NEW MP? If not, how is it done, please.
-
How does one adjust the rangefinder on a Leica MP? Is it a D-I-Y
job or does the top plate need to be removed? Thanks.

Does anyone know if the exposure meter circuit in a Leica MP
is 'off' (ie. drawing NO current) when the shutter is NOT cocked
(film advanced) but the shutter speed dial is not set to 'B/OFF'?
The handbook is unclear - at least in English.
Thanks

Can anyone provide a better translation, please.

One of the responses to my question (below) about Hasselblad 501 C/M
production suggests that Hasselblad is about to close most of its
service centres outside Sweden. Anybody else heard this?
-
When did Hasselbald stop production of the 501 C/M? It is still
advertised on their (UK) site!

I understand theat Ilford XP2 can be rated at a wide range of speeds
but what EI would you recommend for a beginner? Thanks.

Anyone had any experience of PELICAN cases? I'm looking for something
to provide protection during a rough overland trip. I need something
for Leica M6 with 35 Summicron + Noctilux + Hasselblad 500 c/m + 80mm
Planar + 2 X A12 backs + film. Thanks

Anyone had any experience of PELICAN cases for Hasselblad gear? I'm
looking for something to provide protection during a rough overland
trip. I only need something small - Hasselblad 500 c/m + 80mm Planar
+ 2XA12 backs + Leica M6 + Noctilux + film. Thanks

Thanks for your help. David

Anyone know if Hasselblad still offer factory tours? Anyone been on
one? Any good? Thanks
-
Many thanks - I wll call them tomorrow.

Anyone know if Hasselblad UK will still service my 80/2.8 C Planar?
It is not broken or damaged, just a bit stiff and clunky! If not,
who will in UK?
Thanks
-
Yes, thanks but I am interested in the UK - that's why I wrote 'in the United Kingdom'.

Anyone know what is happening at Ilford in the United Kingdom?
-
Ooops - finger/brain problems again. I certainly do!

Anyone heard any rumours about a silver chrome version of the new
50mm Summicron ASPH?

Returning to B&W photography. With Kodak and Ilford on the way out,
what film should I be going for? Am in the UK. Thanks

Royal Mail International Parcel Force - or however they currently style themselves - 'lost' my titanium M6 last year whilst it was en-route to Solms. It was clearly STOLEN from the 'hub' in UK. Nobody I subsequently spoke to was surprised. They did, however, cough up. NO NOT USE ROYAL MAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks all - I'm going for the Cron!

Having just received compensation for the theft of my previous
lenses, I want to buy a NEW 35mm lens for my MP. Please can I have
some comments on the relative qualities of the f2 and f1.4 ASPH
lenses.
I am not concerned about the price difference or weight. How useful
is the extra stop? What is the difference in performance at f2 and
above? I am interested in street photography and landscape, mostly
black and white.
Thanks

Many thanks to everyone. David

Dear Moritz
Thanks for your helpful comments
Is the new Vulcanit good to touch/look at?

I am thinking of buying a Leica MP 'a la carte'. This now appears
to be available in black CHROME with a 'Vulkanit' body cover. Has
anyone any experience of either? Is it really black CHROME?
Is 'Vulkanit' anything like the old Leica vulcanite?
Please, NO wisecracks about cost/value/fondling - I have read them
all!
Thanks.
Best current colour print film?

I am planning a trip to Germany/Austria in the summer. Will be taking
MP with 35/50. (Hopefully) something better than usual holiday snaps
of buildings, landscape etc. What film should I take? Thanks
