1.
Hello
I require advice please. I have been asked by the hospital to submit a tender quotation to do newborn photography
I am a sole trader they do not want to employ me though, I am a little confused as I am not suppling the product to the hospital or they will not be purchasing the product from me . I am not getting a straight forward answer from the contract manager he says they ask for a monthly fee.

My understanding of tendering is for supply and purchasing to the hospital
has anyone had experience with this issue helpful advise would be appreciated.

 2.
hello all,
I have been shoot portraiture and commercial work for some time now, I am about to pursue Wedding photography as I shot a friends wedding recently and enjoyed the atmosphere. Friend was very happy with out come.
Though i had some unexpected edited through Photoshop, maybe someone can give me advise with custom balancing not that i dont know how to do it , In the above situations I use hand held light meters sekonic, gray or white cards, expo discs, and expo balances and custom white balance when needed, or straight forward TTL and exposure compensation.
though at a wedding working on my own which would be the best custom white balance to use my concerns would be missing some action changing settings under different lighting conditions and the time to do this. advice welcome thankyou from experienced wedding photographers.

 3.
you are a bully mr prouty no helpful advice given to my question I am not a hobbiest very offended by your remarks. I certainly would like to see your work could be good I may respect your work
its known that some photographers in the industry can be very secretive i didnt expect that i would get such a stern response to my question anyhow my question was not answered by you at all. i dont know why you bothered, and maybe one day i will be able to buy the more expensive pro gear though i believe what i do with my photography is good and i have a lot of very happy customers that refer me because iam a people person that gets the jobs. enough said

 4.
david heavy answer I have been studing photography professionally i own a canon 5 d mark 11 24-+70mm L series lens and 100mm macro lens
I dont believe you have answered my question your response has been rather abrupt
IAM NOT A AMATUER AND RIP PEOPLE OFF what i have been shooting is volunteering with no payment for your information. as iam still learning and everyone has the opportunity to post questions of concern. what where you like when you first started out. i feel very offended by your remarks - are you a people person - i believe you have to be to work with the public
should i wish you all the best

 5.
Hi Leigh I was using a 24-70 maybe this is why i was getting slower shutter speeds
dof f2.8

William I shot a Halloween night outdoors not a lot of light, the entertainment stage had big red reflecting lights flashing on and off, indoors had smoke machines and red reflective lights.
was very challenging for me didnt shoot many people as had no flash, mind you I was just there as an volunteer for the experience they understood

 6.
Hi thankyou all
Mark can you please explain what a head on flash is please
will flash increase the shutter speeds TTL?(a little vague with this)
Iam fine with fill flash during the day its the dark evenings and slow shutters that concerns me most.

 7.
Hello everyone
I have a problem with exposures in low light conditions held at events.
I shot on Manual mode at f2.8 iso 6400(had too) though shutter speeds were still long (under 1/40 sec)
hand held could not take a tripod to this event. mind you I got unshaped images both in movement in standing still
Can you advise of whether a flash TTL would have helped me with correct exposures and increased shutter speeds
thankyou kindly

 8.
Hi all
Can anyone give me further advise please
I was shooting an event last night (as a volunteer of course at this stage)
The lighting was outdoor very dark no light to bounce off, indoor light dark with red flouro lights everywhere
such a challenge it was too me to get non blurred images.
I was shooting with a 5d mark 11 a 24-70 lens I had to push my iso to 6400 F2.8 and still got slow shutter speeds hand held so not too good a night for me. shutter speeds where mostly under 1/40 sec I was also on Manual mode
this is troubling me, slow shutters are sometime good for creative effects though I am wanting sharp non blurred images .
Your advice and patiences is appreciated

 9.
I photographed my first low light event last night using a canon 5d mark 11 only no tripod or flash. I put my ISO up to over 1600, f stop mainly 2.8 to let in us much light as I can though I was still getting shutters of below 1/50 most of the time as the lighting was continually changing . obviously due to the equipment i was not carrying with me and having long exposures some photos where blurred. I also shot in raw and jpeg. please help me with advice in this situation of what I could have done differently. thankyou kindly
