I use a D5000 as well, love it. 

This picture is beautiful, I love the lighting and her position. the large white circle in the back makes her face seem a perfect silhouette. 

However, the area of her face that appears black and splotchy is odd looking.

Beautiful. I love how her hands are forced to hold the heart, and yet she looks somewhere between hopeful and innocent. Lighting is brilliant.

This photo is fabulous; she is the appearance of perfection. The lighting is perfect, and the desaturation is done perfectly. Her eyes capture the viewer's eyes. Very well taken.
