This was done in with a combination of images, layered in photoshop. The

idea behind it is the bursting of earth's bubble with the effects of the

massive oil spill from BP.

I love this image, the tones are beautiful, the effect is certainly there. The only thing that stuck out to me is the lack of shadow on the ground, was that intentional?
