<p>I would definitely have an off camera flash, either a 430 or 580. Wedding receptions are notoriously dark, so you have to prepare for the worst. </p>

<p>I recommend taking it to the local camera store you plan to buy a new camera from. They tend to give you more than others will, in exchange for the purchase. </p>

<p>Flash is great when used properly. I have a Fong diffuser for my external flash. You can also dial down the power on an external flash as well as a pop up flash. You get light without "headlight beams" of light. </p>
