I have a Sony Nex 6 with the 16-50 zoom. I compared the clear image zoom with my Leica 90mm and my Voigtlander 75mm and the results were really surprising. The clear image is not quite as sharp as the other 2 lenses, and you don't have the larger apertures, but not having to carry another lens around on my walks really interests me. My question, can someone explain to me what the clear image zoom is doing, as there is also a digital zoom function?

When going out to shoot, I had the choice of either Leica M6 0.58, Bessa R2, or M4-2. My favorite was the R2 with the summicron 40mm. It was my perfect solution to size, weight, quality, and matching my vision. My M6 was a beauty to behold and a pleasure to use, but it was so much easier to haul the R2 and summi around. You already are using these, so I guess I'm not really adding anything to the discussion...but as they say" the grass is always greener..."

Gus, The bottom right soft button is used to enlarge the view. It has MF with a + sign.

My Nex 6 is as automatic shooting as is possible with a manual focus lens. It has focus peaking and enlargement for quick and accurate focusing. My lens of choice is my 40mm f2 summi C. I shoot in shutter priority and set the shutter and aperture to what i want and the camera changes the iso to meet what I have chosen. Works great and what quality photos!

Hi, all. I am now the proud owner of a nex 6 camera, with a question about manual focus with a legacy lens. My kit lens in manual focus will enlarge the image for a short time. Is it possible to do this with my 40mm summi? Focus peaking works ok, but sometimes the enlarged image would be nice. Thanks for any help that you may offer.

Could your photos be elsewhere on the card? I once had a camera that filled in spaces of photos that I had deleted, making them out of order. Never checked the numbering though.

I use a Leica 40mm sumi on my R2 and I find it a perfect fit for my normal mid range shots. Close up, you might not want to crop as tight. I always wondered about the Rollei version with 40 and 80mm framelines. Did they actually make a new finder or just relabel? With my 85mm Canon, I always use the 75 frames instead of the 90!

Your photographic vision may also help decide if you need a FF or not. I have a 15mm lens. It produces images that I just can"t get with a crop sensor.

I have always loved rangefinder cameras, but not for the rangefinder. The viewfinder is just how I visualize an image. An slr just doesn't compare. I can live with autofocus as long as I am able to compose the picture as I want. If the viewfinder is as good as I hope, I will have the X100 soon.

Mark, The canon ftbn that I used to have had the E focus screen. My EF also has the microprism ring around the split image. Its # is 399XXX.

Great lens. Hard to find because present owners don't want to give them up! I've
had mine for over 30 years. One down side is the long focus throw, like 350 degrees from
infinity to closest.

John: If the lens has 48mm filter threads, it is for a Canon SLR camera... could be used with an adapter
but you would have to guess focus.
