1.
I learned on a old film camera that had no fancy electronics, so I shoot M. The only thing I let the camera choose for me? WB. I usually tweek that on the comp because I don't like what the camera did. So yea, it's 99.98% M for me.

 2.
I have to say I think it's like most other sorts of photography, shoot lots and find what works for you. When I got my first zoom I went after birds figuring that thier fast movements would teach me to zoom quickly (and it did), and I also shot with out the autofocus (also to teach myself to focus quickly, it worked). I also shot at fast shutter speeds, only to find I had better shots when I learned to slow the camera down.
One thing I learned? The birds have rules of thier own. I know certain birds will get close to you while other won't. I even have come to believe the colors that you wear will have some results on wether a bird gets close. I have been to some places so often that the birds seem to have become comfertable with me. I have even had a blue heron come take a fish from my feet (that was scary). I even had one block me at the end of a dock (a very narrow dock). I wound up ther for an hour while he stood there.
So like I began. shoot a lot, and see what works for you.
3.
Make a copy of the release, and send them the original. this way you will still have a hard copy, and more then likely the law on your side. They don't need to know you have a copy, and then you can do as you please with the shots (as agreaded apon). even if they lawer-up it will only go before small clames (depending on the amount), or a mediator. Don't even mention that you have a copy! I would just send it and break contact with them.
If you check out the sight http://www.handelonthelaw.com/home/RadioQuestions.aspx it will direct you to lawers who answer questions. More then likely they will say the same thing I did.
I'm no lawer, but after years of listening to this guy (a well respected lawer) I trust the advice he gives.

 4.
Well it's been sorted as to what the effect is called. For the sake of others, as well as the OP. what should we do when shooting to work around the prespective (other then by a TS lens). My thought would be a ladder, or something that would change the highth of the shot.

 5.
I should add, when I was in school for electronics, the fact that water is a way to clean electronics was never refuted. If you got the battery out in time, then you should be able to use it rather soon after drying.
I have to guess if it was so wet that water poured out, but even if it did the electronics shouldn't have suffered that much. Then your only concerns are the machanical parts.

 6.
Set the camera in front of the refrigarator, the air comming out of the bottom is very dry. It's a trick I've learned to use for many different things. The movement of air is rather slow. I would suggest leaving all compartments open. I'm no expert, but I would say that you can leave the lens off and rap the body in a cloth that has very little lint.
You are fortunate that it was fresh water, not salt. After seeing the video on here where a guy puts a Nikon and Canon threw various tortures (to include pouring tea on them), you should be fine.

 7.
Thanks everyone. I certainly do respect all the statements made, to include the grammer lessons. Amoungst all the comments are truly some insightful points. If I do decide to do the shoot, or if the B&G can afford the $150.oo I am asking , I will share what I get. I'll even put one in the critque section so as to learn even more from a crowd I respect enough. that I joined the sight. I knew there would be blood in the water on my first post. It's ok I'm niether thin skinned or thick headed.
A Side note to W.T. it's used as Webster would.
Thanks again, Jamie.

 8.
@Dave. I don't think that they will even be that formal. I'll see if I can get an idea of the basic plan. @Steve. I'm 44 and have lived around these same people for a total of 18 of those years. They think I'm a city boy, even after all this time.
@Niel. Good point. keep my eye on the ball.

 9.
@Matt, I can see where that could be assumed. I didn't mean to make it seem that way. I have to be honest, so I put it frankly, as did the people who responded. I'm glad they were frank with me. I wanted to make the point of the enviroment. I think many of the same people who jumped on my post would think it is a zoo.
And thanks again to those who were kind enough to keep it on the subject. If I do the shoot. I will try to get both, my style, and the standards.

 10.
@MAtt. Thanks for the input.
I guess I'm trying to figure out what I want to get out of a wedding shoot. As of yet, I'm not sure I want to be a wedding photographer. Initialy I didn't. Lately people have been asking me (after they see my candids) wether I do wedding. So I figure to give it a shot. I've read a lot on this and other sights, and the ones who are renound wedding photographers seem to share a style, candid. At the same time there seems to be a million wedding photographers who shoot the basic images (cake cutting, boquet toss, you know the shots). So do I try and make my style work for the wedding or do I just get pictures that people can say this is my wedding.
As far as not having respect for the B&G? I would show them the same respect that I do everyone else. I don't judge them. Calling them by the name redneck isn't judging. It's just how people call them selves around here. It's a hat people wear with pride. Don't you listen to country? You know, the four wheel drives with the confederate flags, cut off shorts, T-shirts with deers as the objects of desire. Really with the media calling them rednecks and the people saying darn-toot'n. I'm not disrespecting them.

 11.
Ok so that sounds bad (more concerned with the portfolio than the B&G). I guess my point is that I'm more concerned with getting shots that I can use to promote myself (I'm sure that doesn't sound any better). This isn't going to be one of those times where I'm out to please the customer. If I do this, it will only as an exercise. I'm not figuring on getting any money other then the development cost, and that will be done at wal-mart.
As for calling the people redneck? well that is how many of the people around here consider themselves. Heck I'm a little bit of a beach bum/hippie. These people don't worry about such nonsense as political correctness. They are proud to be rednecks (love the honesty).
My spelling? yea, thats a whole nother subject, one I didn't fair well in.
So back to the question, do I shoot for the candid, or worry more about the cake, rings, boquet toss, ect, ect.. ?

 12.
I have an oppertuniy to shoot a wedding that will be at the brides home. It's out in the sticks (thats not derogitory). I don't think there will be much as far as coordinatoin. I also don't think there will be much if any real dressing up. So my question would be. Should I focus on the standard images (rings, cake, walking the isle ect, ect..) Or should I go more for the candid/documentry shots? I'm more concerned with getting shots for my portfolio then for the B&G.

 13.
I honestly can't see why anyone would be excited about this camra. You get most of the same things in a T2i, for $200-$300 less. If I was going to make a step up, I'd go to the F.F.'s. I would rather have the T2i and spend the money on a lens.

 14.
Congradulations on getting a darn good camera. I started with the Xsi and then got the T2i. I hardly use the Xsi, unless I need two cameras (it happens). As far as shooting in M? Practice on birds. There fast movement will help you dial in the settings faster. Good Luck and enjoy !

 15.
I'm often asked if I'm a pro. My answer? not yet. I see a lot of sights where people call them selves professionals. Mainly, I don't go past the first image. I'll have people see me with some of my work, and they say you must be a pro? I tell them I will be if you buy my images, they don't (they do heap praises on me, but that will never make me a pro). So I have to agree with the concensus here. If you make your living taking pictures. Then yea, your a pro! Oherwise, your just someone taking pictures. Just like me.
I should add. This sight has more pros' then any of the others I've found. (and I'm not being a wiseguy).

 16.
Ok I'm the odd-ball here. There are times I will just use the memory card (sd) in my camera. I'll create a different folder. The camera doesn't notice it, nor will it show them.
I loose some space but, with 8 gigs' it's not much of a problem. It does come in handy on occasions.
Hope that helps ya.
