  1. after read the complains of Wisner.....wondering why people don't

want to switch to Canham or Phillips?

only use Toyo810MII and Toyo 810G in my life......

if you guys complain Wisner so much....why not switch to others?

because Wisner has better design? or price? (gusss not)....or?

what is the reason you still stay with Wisner? even you guys know you

won't get what you ordered on time?

    thanks

  2. hi,

does PMK 1:2:100 and 1:2:50 has different result?

i mean the grain and the tonality......

i have tried 1:2:50 with 120......which give me more grain than D-76

so if i dilute less....will have more grain?

dilute more .........will have less grain?.........just like Rodinal?

    thank you.........

  3. my idea works...

the image look very bright with this lens...and i don't need to step down to avoid dark coners.

here is what you need to mount Rodagon 240mm on 810VXL

    A. 3 x 67-72mm step-up ring

    B. 2 x 72-67mm step-down ring

    C. 1 x 62-67mm step-up ring

    D. 1 x Lens Flange "3" shutter

    E. a Beseler 4"x4" drilled in "3" size hole

    steps as following...

    1. 67-72 2. 72-67 3. 67-72 4. 72-67 5. 67-72 6. 62-67 7. lens flange with lens board.

    why use "3" size hole?

because the rear mount diameter of Radagon 240 is 60mm and "3" size hole is 62mm...they work together perfectly.

another reason, there is no lens flane between 72mm - 62mm, and you can not go smaller than 60mm.

    why use so many rings?

because the rear elment of lens is long....need 5 rings to cover the lenght

if anyone has other easier way to mount this lens, please let me know.

    Jeff...

  4. yes Nicholas,

there is a big problem with Rodenstock rodagon 240mm on Beseler 810VXL. Rodagon 240mm has huge rear element if you compare with Beseler 240mm HD. Rodagon is almost 2.5 times bigger than Beseler HD.

And from the design of the 810VXL. i believe Beseler did not design this enlarger for big lens.

i saw one of my friend who custom made a lensboard for this lens on 810VXL. he made a extened lens board, therefore the rear element of Rodagon 240mm won't touch the lens stag adjustment. then it works.

for me i am in NYC...

i have this idea about mount my huge Rodagon.

i will buy some stepping rings from 72mm to 62mm...then have a lens board drilled at 62mm. using the stepping rings as entened lens board..then mount the lens

i hope this will work. i will go to B&H tomorrow and try it out...

    Jeff

  5. hi

    i am replacing my 240mmAPO-gerogon to Rodagon 240mm...(Bob salman...i

    trust you)

from my understanding Beseler does not make lens board for this lens.

    (72mm) right?

So what i can do is to buy a blank board then drilled a 72mm hole.

will a flat or recessed board make any different?

Recedssed board may let me get larger print size?

anyone know in NYC area who can do lens board drilling?

    thanks

    Jeff
