1.
I use mostly primes when shooting lately, but each time I attach my 28-70L to the 7D, I realize that most photos turn out to be around 35mm. So I thought about buying a prime in the 35mm range.
Another solution would be to switch the 7D with a 5D markII. The resulting field of view should be the same with a 50mm/1.4 (that I already own), than the 7D with a 35mm/1.4.
When I first bought the 7D I shot sports and some wildlife, now I take more photos of landscapes, nature, street and people in general.
Which choice will deliver the better results? Buying a new lens or a new body? Have I missed something?
How are the performances of both combinations in low light?

 2.
If I plan walking light, I mount the 50 f/1.4 on my 7D and sometimes take the 20 f/2.8 with me if I should need something wider.
Although I have a 28-70 f/2.8L, I rarely use it any more these days. I prefer walking around with the 50 f/1.4 and 85 f/1.8.
I'm no big fan of the zooms. If you look at your pictures you often will see that 80% or more are shot with the same (your favourite) focal length. Mounting a prime lens in this range will give you better results than most zooms can deliver, and if you should ever need another range, switch the lenses. It doesn't take too much time after all :)

 3.
Hello,
I was thinking about replacing my zoom with the 200mm prime. I used the zoom mostly at 70 or 200mm and rarely in between. I do already own a 50/1.4 and an 85/1.8, so adding a 200/2.8 should satisfy my needs in the 70-200 range.
My question now is, how big is the quality difference of both lenses. I couldn't find direct comparisons online. Would anyone of you recommend this lens change? I always found the zoom a bit heavy to carry around.
When the 200/2.8 is attached to an EOS 7D + battery grip, is there a need for a tripod collar, when using on a monopod or tripod? Or is the lens "light" enough to be used without?

Kind regards,
Christian
