1.
Yes it is. I even switched on and off to make sure it was working. After posting question it still works at home as do a couple of others I tried. Also some of the pic's I took a couple of weeks ago when this all started are out of focus. On Sat. I went to a parade and had the same problem.

  2.
I own a Nikon D90 and have been having difficulting using my Nikon 24-120 VR lens. When I attempt tp shoot the camera does not function unless I readjust the zoom. It seems to work fine when I'm at home but both indoors and outside I don't know when it will function and when it won't. I have attempted to change the setting from Apiture priority to Shutter priority to automatic. It just seems to shoot when it wants to. I believe its the lens not the camera. Will be trying a different lens later today when I will be on a day trip.

  3.
While in a computer store I was looking at a Apple computer. In its photo section I was able to remove people, unwanted rocks, etc. from a image leaving for instance just the beach scene. It removed the unwanted image and replaced it with what would be there if that image was not there. No erasing and then copy and moving like you can do with many windows programs. Just click the image out and what would be there appeared. Is it possible to buy a program for windows that does the samething?I tried a sample Photoshop 5 program and it would not do it either.

  4.
I have several photos of old buildings and vehilces that also contain modern vehicles which I want to remove. While at some retail stores I was looking at apple computers and was able to remove rocks and other items from photos with a simple click with the mouse. I run windows 7 and have Photoshop CS5 installed. I was told by a sales person at a photo store that Photoshop can do the same thing. I have not been able to do it however unless I paint out the affending auto which takes alot of time and stil have ghosts of the cars. Is there a way of doing this with windows 7 and photoshop or is this exclusive to apple?

  5.
I have a Canon mp990 printer. Two main problems exist that I can not solve. The first is the printer does not center the picture to be printed equally on the paper. One border is always different from the opposite side. The second problem is worse. The printer prints darker than what I see on my PC screen. Now if I use my everyday printer, a mp210. the prints are properly centered and it prints much closer to what appears on my screen. Does anyone have suggestions on how to cure these two problems?

  6.
Thanks for all the suggestions. One of the reasons I like carrying most my lenses is while in Hawaii and riding around in a friends car(local) and seeing a perfect shot I discovered the lense I needed I did not have with me. Left it at the hotel. I have to admit after noting down on paper a thourgh inventory of my lenses I do have alot of overlaping lenses. While working I have always only carried one or two lenses and as of late the D90. Before my digital days I always carried my Nikon film camera with color film.

  7.
I have a Canon Mp990 printer for photos and a Canon MP210 for everything else. The 990 seems to print a little off center leaving a larger border on one side than the other and also does not print photos as they appear on my PC screen. Usually they are to dark. If I print the photos using the 210 printer they are properly centered and the color is closer to what I am seeing on the screen. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  8.
Over the years I have purchased different lenses which I now use on Nikons N90, N60 and D90 cameras. Carrying all them around is a bit of a task. I'm never sure which lense I will need. I shoot mainly old buildings, old equipment (oil wells, etc) and landscapes. I have the following lenses Tamron 17-35 77mm; Nikon 24-120 72mm; Nikon 28-80 58mm; Tamron 75-300 62mm; Promaster 80-210 52mm; Tamron 200-500 86mm and a 2x converter. Should I shelve or trade in some and perhaps buy a more suitable lense or just keep lugging around the five lenses? The Tamron 17-35mm and the Nikon 24-120mm are fairly new and I am currently using them the most.

  9.
I had a problem much like yours. I could not open certain photos I had taken on vacation. I originally had a D-40, moved up to a D80, that got stolen right after I bought it and now have a D90. I never downloaded the Nikon program to view my pictures. I normally use Photo Shop. Well I downloaded a Nikon program but still could not print the photos. I could however view them I ended up taking my memory card to a photo shop and they recovered the photos. What caused the problem was me changing the settings to Raw/Nef. The shop converted the photos to JPEG.
What I found out later is the Nikon program for D-40 or D80 does not work with my D90. I can now open the photos shot in raw on my PC and print them.

  10.
I am going on 66yrs in February and going to retire to just photography or what ever. When I was about 5 or 6, my brother 8 or 9 maybe younger the owner of a local market took slide pictures of both of us with our mother. This was when markets in Los Angeles were not closed in. We were dressed in our complete cowboy outfits chaps and all. My mom became legally blind and under light she could barely make the pictures out as she got older. The slides had been put away and not viewed for over 30 years. I found them and viewed them clearly for the first time via my PC. I printed some of the best and gave one to my brother three or four years ago. To see us with mom when we were kids brought back alot of wonderful memories for both of us. As my brother says "Ma Barker and her gang ." Oh, moms in a heavy long green coat fashionable at that time.

  11.
Jerry, I think you misunderstood me. I started the exposure "Bulb" at about 4 or 5AM. I fell asleep and did not wake up until 8 or 9AM. I was wondering if the excessive sunlight, the sun coming up, could have ruined the remainder of the roll.

  12.
I just returned from vacation to Hawaii. After I got back I had two rolls of film developed. Color from my N60 and B & W from my N90. None of the shots from the color film were lost but the last 13 pic's on the B & W were blank. I'm wondering if the x-ray machine affected it, used and unused film in protective bag in camera bag when going thru the airport security. Or could I have messed it up when I attempted a late night extended shot of the moon refecting off the water that I attempted and then fell asleep and did not wake up until the morning. Would that have messed up the entire end of the roll although it was around exposure 24 to 28 I believe?

  13.
Update:
I installed the Nikon View NX program and was able to download the Raw images from my D90 card. The

problem now is I can't transfer them to Photo Shop or even print them from the Nikon program. I can hwever print

photos from other files othen than the one I just downloaded(Raw). Photos are great color and resolution but I can't

    print them. Any ideas?

  14.
I installed the Nikon disk and was able to transfer the pics to that program. However I'm unable to print the photos or transfer them to Photo Shop. When I go into my pictures file it lists the photos my number in the folder but does not show them. I can however use the Nikon program to print pic's from other folders so the Nikon program is not at fault. I'm think of going to a photo store and see if they can download the pics to a disk I can work and print from. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

  15.
I have a D90 and took it on vacation. Twice I moved my photos on to my laptop while there. I came home and

now I'm not able to transfer my photos to any of my computers. The pics can be seen on the camera but will not

transfer to my PC. Am I doing something wrong or is there a trick or change I can make to retrieve my photos?

  16.
I currently have a Nikon N-65 I use for color photography. I resently have seen Nikon N-3's and N-100's on sale , used , for $249.00. I'm trying to move up to a more professional camera and am sure feed back on this forum will be very helpful. The price is right and I'm limited on what I can spend due to retiring soon.

    D90

Thanks to everyone. This was primarily a mechanical question. I wasn't sure if my new camera was functioning properly, bought via internet new.
Its a bit funny. I started out many years ago with a Pentix K1000 I think. Everything was manual. Then I knew how to adjust for light or lack there of. With all these electronics and how they are explained in the books and other places believe it or not it seems more confusing. I'm re-teaching myself . By the way, I own two tripods and have been taking extended time photos using a film camera for a long time. I do find a difference in settings between film and digial. Same settings, different results. But as I was saying its a re-learning process for me.

    D90

I resently purchased a D90 and have been experamenting with it using different settings. What I do is take a pic of the same building with two different wide angle lenses and two different settings. If I use apiture priority the pic's come out great during the day. With shutter priority the pi's are so flushed out you can barely see the image. But at night the pic's with apiture priority are very blurry and shutter priorty are great. Is there something wrong with my camera or is this normal?

  17.
I bought the above lense for my Nikons N65, N90, and D-90.
The problem is the auto focus will not work with the N90. It works OK with the N65. I tried other lenses with the N90 and they work OK. Is the Tamron lense not compatible with the N90 or is it defective? Haven't had a chance to go back to the camera store.
