A stunning portrait. If I took one 1/10th as good as this I'd be thrilled.

Linear polarizer, actually. Despite all the warnings I've read about using linear polarizers with the F4 I've never had a problem.

Thanks, Angela. It's too bad the scanner at work (a flatbed with tranny hood) can't extract any detail in the shadows with Velvia.
Note to self: Must buy Coolscan 4000 one day.

Hmmmm, maybe it is too tightly cropped but the choice was either 85 or 180, the only telephotos I had with me.
Time for an 80-200mm zoom?

Thanks for the comment, Marco. I'd love to go back and retry this shot, but I was on vacation and am now an ocean away. Maybe next time ;-)

This shot was taken in a corridor at the Detroit airport. Every few
seconds the lighting on the walls changes, shifting the mood from warm
to cool. My goal was to take a still that captured the colour
transition, and the passers-by as they tried to make their connecting
flights.
What do you think?

P.S. A tripod, if I had one on hand, certainly would have been useful
to eliminate camera shake although, in my view, the blur doesn't
completely distract from the picture.

I like the way you captured a completely different feel to the same church. Your pics are much warmer than mine.
Cheers,
Joe

Ian,
Clean your glasses. It's a shot of a mannequin.
