I would like to know if there are any improvements i could have made

on this photo. Too much photoshop toning? Not enough tonal scale?

    Composition? Any comments welcomed.

I set up a soft box with my quantum flash attatched on the other

side of my son. I was practicing an extreme rembrandt style of

lighting (pretty much side lighting). I just happened to catch this

    cool expression.

This was a shot i took while visiting Magnolia Gardens in

Charleston, S.C. I had my Leica M6 and a 35mm summicron loaded with

Tri-x. I got 4x6 machine prints back that were pretty grey so i

scanned the print with my Epson flatbed scanner and adjusted the

contrast. I also, dodged and burned, cropped a bit and toned

    slightly.

Great photo! Let me tell you why i like it. Because at first glance, there is absolutely no doubt that it was shot with FILM!!!!!! digital has its place, but it is far from replacing this format. Great job!
  1. this is truly awesome. Didn't know Kodachrome had the "oil painting" palatte. I guess its just perfect exposure. My one question is. With a 2.8 max aperture and an iso of 64, how did you manage the depth of field, sharpess, stop action, etc.... Did you use a flash? Tripod? It doesn't look very bright in this room which would lead me to believe you would be working with some pretty long shutter speeds. Just curious

This is a photo i took of my 8 months pregnant wife. I underexposed

one stop to be sure she was almost a silhouette. I darkened a bit

more in Photoshop and tinted a bit in Photoshop. It was taken with a

    Olympus 3030 digital camera.
