The choice of lighting, composition, and DOF are
really pleasing together. In particular,
the lighting seems so right. Did you use
a reflector or fill light? The shot looks
spontaneous though. Nice skin tones.

I also enjoy using Portra NC for scenics and
landscapes. It looks so natural and the touch
of sky keeps it real (not a miniature set).

I tried a similar shot last fall as well. But
being without a graduated ND filter, I had to
try and keep out much of the brighter sky. I
prefer your symetrical shot to mine by far.
Beautiful!

I keep coming back to this one. I love cats, and and can spend whole afternoons shooting my neighbor's
mainecoon who's always lounging around in our yard.
I've tried some XP2 with a Frontier shot in various lighting conditions, but none of my shots look
this nice.
Or maybe it's the eyes that have me coming back to
this one.

hmmm... looks like a scene out of a dark fantasy novel...like a certain two hobbits on a quest of some sort. :)

I've always been impressed with your clean style
and creativity with subjects that others
easily overlook. Here you've managed
to create something entirely new from your previous RB67 shot
using a completely different style of shooting.
This image has tons of detail in it, and I would guess
that the larger the print you can make from it (while still
maintaining the biting sharp detail) the greater
the impact it will have on its viewer.
