1. Hi Michael,

I had used the P-System with the 45mm, with different results. The

polarazing filter from Cokin will show heavy vignetting. The

half-color filter (I don4t know the english word for this kind of

filter) can be used, but I have modified the P holder.

I get an old version of the holder (not so round-shaped like the new

one) and cut the first 2 holding stripes off. So I can only use one

filter in this holder, but this special version works also with my

    20mm lens (35mm format).

    Hope I can help you

  3. Hi Greg,

I use my P67 for astrophotography and I4m very satisfied with the

results. The 2,4/105 can be used full open, I4m testing the 4,0/200 in

the next time. For real telephoto I use an special adaptor for my

astrophysics refraktor. I have no good results yet, because of the

    poor quality of my mount.

Ask me, if you have further questions

  4. Hi Jim,

I bought the 120 softfocus second hand a few weeks ago. My first impressions:

    - Very nice effect. Sharp details with a lot of diffraction around it, espacially against the light. Best pictures (in my

    opinion) at f4.

    - Very difficult in focus. I had a lot of pictures with incorrect focus (my fault!). I often can+t see the correct focus in the

TTL-Finder. With magnifier no problem, but not so good to use.

    - You can get a wonderful portrait-lens with the 2x converter.

  5. There is no difference (functionally) between the 6*7 und 67, except for one point : You can get an update on newer 67

models with serial numbers higher then 413xxx. You can get a mechanical B-function for longtime exposures (i.e.

astrophotography) and a multi-exposure switch. If you use it, the film will not be transported when you cock the camera.

Does anybody know if there is a difference in mechanical stability ?

  6. Pentax has announced the 645N officially in Germany.

    FYI :

-Body looks like the old 645 (no magazins, still filmholders)

    -New metering systems (2*6-zones, spot)

    -and AUTOFOCUS !!

You can use the old lenses with all functions, except AF. There should be 5 new AF-lenses, but I don4t know what lenses. Who can help?

The camera should be available in March, costs with standard lens 5500,- German Marks ($3000,- but prices in USA are normally lower then in Europe

  7. Hi,

I use a loupe (10x for sharpness control) and a lightbox for selecting the slides. Then I mount the good ones in 8,5*8,5 frames. Then I can view the slide with my Goetschmann slide projector. This projector use no slidemagazin, you must insert one by one (the magazin version is veeeryyy expensive!). But the quality makes you happy evertime you look this slides.

I select the slides before mounting, because of the price of the 8,5*8,5 frames.

  8. I own a Multiblitz Profilite Compact 300 system (the 200 and 400 are little bit newer, the 400 is about the same size). These studio lights are good to carry and doesn't need a good power supply (about 500 Watt/light). I use them also with medium format (Mamiya RB) and have no problems with lightpower. I have different accessoires (standard reflectors, spots, honeycomb, backgroundreflectors and umbrellas). All this equipment is very small and easy to carry. Also you can do a lot more than portrait and beauty shots. They are well made and a really good choice.
  9. I use a UMAX Powerlook II for my medium format scans. This scnner works with 600*1200dpi optical and 36 bit. In US$ it must be about 1000,- . I get really good results for my work.

A friend of mine has a AGFA Duo Scan (1000*2000 dpi / 36 bit). This scanner is about $ 2500,- and gives you scans for every amateur and semiprofessional use. Even some professionals gets results good enough for their use.

  10. I have "upgraded" my P67 at Pentax-Germany with multiple exposure, mechanical bulb exposure and the grid screen. All together was about 600 German Marks (equals 350$).

I use the normal TTL-Prism (works with full moon shots!) and the waist level finder. For critical work, I use no finder and a 10x magnifier directly on the screen.
