i thought it was a face looking down on the scene when viewed small. i do love the shot though, great use of colour and ultra 50.

hate to be another kiljoy, but i think the photograph is too muddied. there's not much pleasing about it except the composition. the colors are plainly okay. nevertheless, i do think the picture would benefit from more light. but that's just my 2c.

i rememer this storm. just before new years. excellent job capturing it. desolate new york is not very easy to capture, but this is a very balanced and simple shot. all around, a great shot.

I don't think this image is pornographic. I really think the figure of the body provides a nice contrast to the bars of the "cage." However, I do understand what others might say about the power dynamic between a (male) viewer and a female subject in a caged situation. However, because the photographer is a female (N.B. The photographer is rarely separated from her/his image, especially in a self portrait) that has framed herself, she inevitably controls the interpretation of the image. The image is more about aesthetics than gender dynamics. However, without a commentary from the photographer, it remains up to the viewer to interpret the photograph. Personally, I interpreted this image in terms of form rather than politics.

i find the legs of the table distracting, if only because they are too curved. As for the lighting, i think more would probably have helped, especially on the body. However, having taken many self-portraits, i do realize how difficult it is to get a good self-portrait. especially since you basically have to guess as to what you will look like. overall good job.

amazing. colours and contrasts are beautiful. love the detail of what looks like a tv antennae on the lower left. adds nice pattern.

if I remember correctly, this is in front of Saks Fifth Avenue when they were doing the New Yorker crossover with the mannequins instead of cartoons.
Great shot. Much more ironic knowing it is in front of Saks.
