1.
I wouldn't give her the RAW files with out release of license without payment for the release. I only give jpg's and contract state the files are not to be modified or use for any purpose other than what's stated in the contract or with out consent from me the photographer. I specially don't want anyone editing my files other than advertisers that I do contract work for and thats because I get enough money with those shoots to justify the use as they see fit or course they can't resale the photos.
Now it the model wanted a different look of the images done in photoshop I would suggest sitting down with her and have her work with you explaining what she wants done to the images.

 2.
One answer the Nikon ML-L3 Wireless Remote Control. Had a bunch of friends with their Nikons and we were having a few beers and wondered if they would all fire from one remote at the same time. D40. D90, D5000 and D70 all fired at the same time.

 3.
I also agree that the D5000 and good lens is all you need. The screw drive focus is pointless reason not to get it. I would get a D90 later and use the D5000 as a backup.

 4.
Fashion Photography is the highest paying but you need to know someone and be good at it. Ex-employer does this in New York and he makes between 75-100k a year. He has been lucky and was able to purchase a Digital Hasselblad with one photoshoot. The guys is rude and seems to drawn in the clients.

 5.
Im still wondering why people want video on their DSLR? I understand the quality and an episode of house was filmed using a DSLR but to me its just a gimmick that will hurt your DSLR sensor because of heat. I don't use it unless it an absolute necessary. I would rather use it to take still photos and use a camcorder or even a phone over using my DSLR for video.

 6.
Barry I think your right cause I just found a Facebook Plugin for LR and it seems to be 100% better option than Picasa.
So I guess the only question is how do I remove the current catalog and import images with out deleting the photos? To LR the folders are missing but have they been renamed. I would manual find the missing folders but there are way too many to do manually.

 7.
Well I don't use Lightrooms Library function. I just open the files when I need to adjust them and then save to the same folder were I organized it in Picasa. I don't really mind if LR doesn't know where they are.
I use Picasa because of the quick view option to view files in explorer it acts like the quick view when using the spacebar on the Mac. Then really like the organization it does over Lightroom's.

 8.
Ok I love lightroom 3 but I don't like the interface for organizing files. I've been using Picasa to sort images and lightroom for adjustments and Photoshop for manipulations. I miss Iphoto from the Mac after 10,000 images files disappeared i quit using it. Plus I no longer have a Mac. Any suggestions for Organization for Windows 7?

 9.
I do all my image processing on a laptop this replaced my Macbook. Windows 7 64bit running - 1.66GHZ DualCore2, 4Gb Ram, 7200 harddrives in 250Gb x2 in Raid 0, Nvidia 8600 GTM 1GB , 17" 1920x 1200. External Monitor is a 30" NEC at 2500x1600. The only problem is battery life but its plugin all the time. Laptop are great for camera control. I used with my portable photography setup. It processes 12-18mp raws with no problem. I can up upgrade the processor in this laptop but I have had the need to. Photoshop cs4 and Lightroom 3 runs smooth as ice. I also have a Desktop thats twice as powerful but I haven't used in like 5months. Gateway P series FX edition or Apple macbook are the only 2 brands I use. The Gateways are the best for the price. http://www.gateway.com/systems/series/529598133.php

 10.
I'm going through the same delima. I've decided to get the Tamron. I've call around to different camera shops here and the all recommend it as long as you get the VC version cause the non VC is supposed to be cheap feeling. The camera shop here that orders it regular said I can try it for 30days and if I don't like he would give me a full refund. I hope to get it soon.

 11.
I was looking at the Tamron option as well. Does Tamron have something like a 70-200 F2.8 that works with the D5000? I would get both then.
Mark, I out grew the D5000 before I got it. I'm already familiar with Canon film bodies and used only a 50mm 15yrs ago used it for Art School thats all I needed then got rapped up in graphic design and kind of fell out of photography. Then Digital started to peak my interest again and was looking at the D300 before my D80 got stolen. My girlfriend bought the D5000 cause Best Buy sales guy told her to get it. I would of rather had the D90 but I wasnt going to say "Thanks babe I like it but this isn't really what I wanted lets take it back!" Plus they charge a 15% restocking fee. I work with what I got and right now the lens is holding be back not the body. Plus the D5000 really impresses me for the what it is. Just wish it had in body motor!
So Im going glass first then body not the other way around.

 12.
My D80 was stolen along with my 18-200 and didn't really look at other lenses when I had it. My girlfriend surprised me with the D5000 which I love and will keep this camera and add a D90 or D300s as a main body in the future. I have been eying the Af-s dx zoom-nikkor 17-55mm f 2.8g if-ed is this a bad combo? For Portrait and low light shooting? Look at the 70-200 but is out of my price range.
I want to be able to do events and maybe wedding shots in the future (2nd shooter). Will this lenses work for this too?
