1.
I have 3 Nikon lenses that the focusing ring does not stop once you have passed infinity. It will continue to move in a clockwise direction as long as you keep turning it. 2 of the lenses( AF-S NIKKOR 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 G & AF-S NIKKOR 18-200mm f3.5-5.6 G ED) came with the initial purchase of the camera.....a Nikon D300. The other lens I recently purchased from B&H. That is a AF-S NIKKOR 10-24mm f3.5-4.5G ED. Is this something I should be concerned about or not. The photographs are all sharp and it does not seem to be an issue other than I'm constantly checking the focus distance indicator on the lens.

 2.
.I have a Nikon D300s and D300 with the MB-D12 Multi Power Battery Pack. The charge on the battery pack went low the other day and "[CHA]" was displayed in the camera display. I thought the camera would switch to the internal camera battery but it did not. It would not allow me to take a photo until the battery pack was disconnected. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting in the menu that will allow this to happen? I couldn't find one.

 3.
Does the Nikon dr-6 right angle viewfinder move 90 degrees to the left or right for viewing when the camera is at eye level or does is it just fixed perpendicular to the camera body?

 4.
I need to buy a spare Nikon D300S body and they are out of stock @ Adorama & B&H with no anticipated arrival estimate. Has anyone ever purchased camera equipment from Abe's of Maine? Are they reputable? or is there another vendor I might use? I'd prefer a camera dealer to eBay.There is a time constraint on purchasing this.........end of April.
Thanks,
5.
I am interested in knowing how large of a CF and SDHC card can be used in the Nikon D300 and D300s. Also.......are these cameras compatible with the newer SDXC cards? I am currently using Class10 16 & 32GB cards with speeds around 20-30 Mbps.

 6.
I have a Nikon D300 that I've had for years and has worked great for me. I almost dropped it in the Madison River in Yellowstone this fall and am considering an additional camera body just in case I do damage it. I thought maybe the D300S would be a good choice as I don't want to go to the FX format unless I have to.....primarily because of the expense and the DX lens non-compatibility. Anyone have thoughts on whether the D300S is the best choice or whether another camera body might be better? Also......anyone know if a new version of the D300 series is on the horizon?
Thanks,
7.
I have Nikon lenses with filter sizes ranging from 52-72mm. I have all the filters I need for my photography but they are the older Wratten 3x3 gel type. I am considering buying the Nikon AF-3 gel filter holder but need adapter rings for my lenses. I am having a hard time finding these Nikon adapter rings. Does anyone know where these rings might be purchased or know of a suitable replacement? I am also looking for a single polarizer that would work with all these lenses. I am assuming a 72mm polarizer with step-ups would do the job.
Thanks in advance,
8.
I have been putting together a panorama taken with my Nikon D300. There are 3 photos taken with a 20mm lens. The panoramas put together with Photoshop have a distinct white jagged line where the photos are joined together. The same photos are used with Microsoft ICE and the panorama comes out fine. I am not that familiar with the Photoshop Automerge function so am I doing something wrong or is there a way within the application to remove/blend these lines.

 9.
I have a Nikon D300 with 18-200mm and 70-300mm lenses. I am continually getting an out of focus black spot at the top of the frame in all the photographs. I have checked the mirror & back and front of both lenses and cannot find anything that might be causing this. I have run out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated.

00YHiQ-335273584.thumb.jpg.5d0b1f4082cdc013e6108debb0af8135.jpg

 10.
Thanks for everyone's responses. I have only tested it on my D300 so far but am very impressed. I can hardly wait to see the transparency film tests. This lens should come in very handy as I head to Montana and Yellowstone NP in 2 weeks. I agree that focusing is a little tough on the DSLR but didn't have any issues with my F2 or F3.

 11.
This might sound like a stupid question but I'll ask it anyway. I just purchased a Nikon 400mm f3.5 lens from Japan. It is in mint condition and appears to focus fine on my Nikon D300. I did noticed that it goes beyond infinity on the focus ring. Is this normal? If so, how far away does an object have to be to be in focus at this infinity + setting?

 12.
What concerns should I have buying a Nikon lens from an eBay seller in China? I don't want the lens to get stuck in customs or have to pay a ridiculous fee to get it. It appears like 2-3% is the tariff rate I would have to pay. I got that from the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States. After talking to the customs folks it seems like there are a number of forms that need to be filled out. I have asked the seller for help with this but have not received a reply as yet. Has anyone bought eBay lenses from China? If so, any help with the procedure for safely getting this lens into the country would be appreciated.

 13.
Thanks everyone for your quick input. I believe I have enough information to move forward with a purchase....I just need to find one.

 14.
I graduated from Brooks in 1981 but have been out of photography on a regular basis for about the last 15 years. Now that I'm retired I have started to pursue my love of nature photography again. I am looking for a 400-500mm lens for my F2 and F3 Nikons. I have been considering a Nikon 400mm f/5.6 AI non-IF and Nikon 400mm f/3.5. It appears like these are both verg good lenses. I cannot afford a 500mm f/4.0 P lens right now. Which of the 400mm lenses would you recommend if I could only purchase one? Any suggestions on what might be a good price for these lenses in excellent condition? B&H has a used 400mm f/5.6 (8+ on condition) for $1,100......seems a bit pricey. Lenses for 35mm film cameras are very difficult to find.......any suggestions. Ebay has some 400mm lenses but most are not Nikons and I am a little cautious about the purchase of Ebay optics.
I am also looking for a good and functional incident and reflective light meter that doesn't cost and arm and leg.
