I took this quite a few years ago (1978) and recently found the print
in a box, scanned and posted it. Your comments are welcomed.

The racetrack is a small one attached to the Washington County
Fairgrounds. I saw the horses in harness rig exercising on a
Saturday morning.

This was taken at the commuter rail stop at Stuttgart-Vaihingen.

Just an old gate near my house. When I see this pasture entrance I
know it is almost time to turn.

I love this. What else is there to say. Thank you!

Traveling carnivals are a staple feature in the northern Shenandoah
valley. Always good for a scary ride and a case of indigestion (from
the funnel cakes and hot dogs). Please critique.

I like the counterpoint of the quiet, calm, conversation going on at the far table, and the more animated conversation occuring at the the near table. One of the photographers I most admire, Henri Cartier-Bresson, took some amazing photographs of people doing the most ordinary things, like jumping over a puddle or playing ball in the street. So, I like to watch people and--sometimes--to capure them in a moment like this one.

Kellen,
I really enjoy this photo. It reminds me of many places in the Northern Shenandoah Valley and West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle.
About the square format; my favorite framing format (when I can get away with it) is an 8" X 8" print in a 12" X 12" frame. Square is very cool....

I took this picture, from a restaurant patio, on the spur of the moment. I intended to crop away the foreground leaving the "classic" shot of Diamond Head that everyone takes. Then I decided to leave the forground in beacause that is the way most people who see Diamond Head actually see it; from a window or a car.

Please critique. Does the foreground detract?

Lovely photo. The sharpness clouds and the detail of the bridge structure are fantastic.

Nick,
I've been off Photo Net for a while and thought I'd log in and see who is doing what. I like your Lomography folder and really like this shot. I shall have to try the technique you describe for achieving this wide-angle effect.
The image itself is haunting with the two walkers slipping out of the frame.
Cheers,
Denis
