its a joke,if they dont scan at least 3000, and better yet, 4,000 DPI they arent worth a hoot,,,,,but,,,,printing at 300 dpi makes sense, Do you possibly have the numbers confused?

Wildlife photography is not art? My mistake! And all of these years 90% of my sales have consisted of my framed wildlife photographs that I have custom matted and framed myself. Do you think my customers just purchased these to please me and they really had no desire to hang them on there wall to view all the time? Dang, and here I even put wire hangers on the frame so they could hang them up, stupid me.

Alot of us make good money by marketing our own wildlife photos. Myself included. Here is my web site:

Afraid that film sells will probably not increase. In fact, a statement released from Kodak stated sales of film have continued to drop every month for the last 12 months

My opinion is that digital cant even hold the detail that 35 mm offers. It will be about a decade before digital can hold all the information that is available from a high qulaity scanned 6 x 7 trans or negative. It will happen but will take a few more years. Maybe as many as 15

I own a Mamiya RZ Pro ll Camera. Today, after not using the camera
for over 7 months the focusing wouldnt work. After playing for it
awhile it finally began to move back and forth, but its very erratic
and now the fine focusing knob wont work at all. Any suggestions?

I am also a lover of Robert whites prices and service. But be aware alot of VISA companies are now charging surcharges on foreign transactions

ups ( I assume fed ex does the same)pays the custom duties then collects from the customer and it ranges from 3-6% depending on what u purchase.
You cant go wrong buying from him. I have spent over 10K there in the last year and always got fantastic service

I purchased a B1G last year and it locked up on me. After taking it
apart I finally got it working again but now the panning is way to
stiff.
The panning seems to be directed to the three phillip screws that
hold the bottom plate of the head to the panning base.
How do I adjust the screws properly to insure smooth panning?

Does anyone know where I can get 6 stop ( or more ) neutral density filters designed to fit the cokin P system? Please, I am not interested in combining filters unless I cant obtain what I need. Thank you

IF you can fly to Katmai from homer via a float plane for a day. I would suspect at least a 1,000 tab for air fare. The other option is to fly from Ted Stevens International Airport (Anchorage) to King Salmon on a commerical jet then take a float plane to Katmai. Besides, unless you already have reservations to camp there its all for naught anyway as you would be limited to flying in and out to one day. Randy

You can get off the bus if wildlife is observed. But the bus driver just has to take u a little distance away,,,,,I continue to get great sellers from the park buses every year. No, its not an idea situation. But sometimes being in the bus is also a plus as bears will get closer. If you were to close to a bear as you were along the road you would have to move. Being in the bus, you can stay put. Most drivers are very courteous towards photographers. But the buses are usually packed.

There is no clear winner here. I have both lenses (70 -200 and 100-
400IS) I will say that I think my 70 - 200 with the Canon 2x
converter is sharper than the 100 - 400 but only by the smallest of
margins. Pick what u want. The advantages of the IS lense is that you
dont constaly have to go from one converter to another

you shoot fine art "stuff" and you arent concerned with sharpness or wobble? Give me a break, lol

Tamrac makes a really sturdy soft case with lots of padding and extra compartments. I just bought one for my Gitzo 15XX. It is roomy enough to allow the tripod to be wrapped for even more protection

If u are only scanning at 200 or 300 dpi,u will be terribly disappointed at the quality. Normal scanning for 35 mm slides is upwards of 2700-4000 dpi. However, dpi for printing slides once scanned is usually best at 240 dpi, as outputted to your printer

WOW! I didnt realize I couldnt make money with my art prints. I guess I been spending someone elses money these last 8 last years. Now, Should I file an amended 1040X and say I really didnt have all that income?

Have you considered selling photographic prints, both framed and unframed? I rarely do stock work, yet I make a good living at this year around. And I know of others in my state that do it also. Sometimes it helps to explore "nontraditional" methods. Negative points are you must invest in framing and matting equipment and do this yourself.

$1200 is a hell of a price to pay for a warranty.

I would also highly reccomend Delta International out of New York. I
recently ordered both a Canon 500 F4 IS and a 100-400IS and they were
by far cheaper than any other company and the items were delivered to
me within three business days

I read that outside of yellowstone they have a place called the
Discovery center. It contains grizzlies on one side and wolves on the
other. What are the photography opportunites here for these animals
in Feb?

There is no way Minolta is on par with Nikon or Canon in reguards to lense choices, accessories, bodies or Quality overall. While they may be "just as good" you have little chance in obtaining all the accessories a pro needs or wants if they are your main source. Just my two cents worth. Enjoy
