1.
Letters and words are different than number because one can easily replicate a digital image and if you try to patent or copyright an image like authoring a book, there is almost a 100% chance someone has already done your picture and better. Digital images are so easy to manipulate and easy to create. Literature not so. Patenting images is different for digital pictures than actual literature. If you were trying to claim credit for Annie Leibovitz's john lennon/yoko image then that would be a different story. Because that was shot with physical film and the author is widely recognized.

 2.
Good point there. But this is the internet and people are just really getting numbers without permission(it happens all the time and sometimes even numbers like credit cards or account passwords, etc.). But really, who owns numbers? Different thing would be if you had an actual paper picture in an actual cafe gallery up for simple display or sale and someone came by and just took it to hang in his business for advertisement. Any person making a business out of photography would not post anything with potential profit or already commissioned work on the internet.

I do however feel it is wrong of this website for not giving you credit. I would e-mail them and start using watermarks.

 3.
Wow, are those your photographs in that flickr link. They are amazing!. If they are yours you could do just fine with a tamron 18-270mm lens. And maybe the 10-22 for wider view or the nifty fifty for low available light work. But looking at your work there I bet you will do just fine a 10X 0r 15X zoom lens like the tammy I mentioned or the canon ef-s 18-200mm.

 4.
I just think my 17-55 + 10-22 combo has too much of an overlap that has me using my 10-22 mostly at 10mm and when I want more tele I just switch to 17-55 quite often to use at 17mm. If I buy it, now I will get more use of a wider view and at tele-end be at about the equivalent of a 24mm for a still wide but not having to change lens :). I am excited to see how it will compare to say a nikon D700 with a 14-24mm f2.8 or a 5D with Sigma 12-24. It may be a less reason to go to full frame for many people.

 5.
Anybody excited about this new lens? I am thinking it will finally replace my ef-s 10-22 and will complement to perfection my ef-s 17-55 IS, hopefully they get the optics right and also hopefully canon will follow. It will indeed be the widest lens available for APS-C crop cameras.

 6.
if you dont mind the rebel type plastic body, ergonomics and awkward controls(compared to xxD/7D) then the t2i is the way to go. I would recommend the 7D but since you may not need the speed or better AF system, then image quality wise, the T2i is ahead of the 40D and 50D in the high ISO and resolution charts. Read the reviews online of the T2i, it has been named best in its class.

 7.
Thanks for that link. This would be my third world cup and not once in all the 5 matches that I've been from tokyo to Munich have the security deny me entry with my dslr and few lenses. Only once I had to speak to head security guard because I had my 70-200L in the back pack. They said the small lenses were ok. That is why I am thinking of taking a 70-300mm IS or if I can the DO version.

 8.
Of course this will be the football World Cup and I will not be alone in the city center, I just figured the party might be there. I will be where the celebration will be. I've been to more dangerous places before by myself at night. Common sense is the key.

 9.
I will be traveling to South Africa this June for the football World Cup and would like some general advice from travelers that been there. I will be mainly visiting city center such as Johannesburg and Cape Town. Most photographs will be football related and city scapes along with city night life. I will probably not do much wild life. I currently have:

7D, ef-s 10-22 and ef-s 17-55 IS. I have what I believe is all the accessories I need such a tripod, 430Ex, 580Ex, canon timer remote release, etc... Of course the idea is to pack light and will only take a few things but I feel that I need more glass. I will pack my camera in a think tank UB 50 along with the lenses, one 430EX, a macbook pro, 3 7D batteries, 52GB worth of compact flash memory, a geo tracker and that is it. I have about 600 dollars to spend on glass, What should I get? my options;

For a prime to use for available light : ef 50mm f1.4, sigma 30mm f1.4, ef 28mm f1.8, ef 35mm f2. I would like to stay away form the sigma since it is for aps-c only, but I've read good things about it. I have used 50mm prime before with aps-c, so I know I will like the range and inclining more towards the ef 50mm f1.4. Also giving thought to selling the 17-55 and purchasing a 24-70L.

For a telephoto zoom: I just sold a 70-200 f2.8L, since I found it to be quite short for wild life and mostly used as a portrait lens which I rarely take portraits and almost never used the lens. I am thinking of renting or buying an ef 70-300mm IS. eventually I will want to buy the 100-400L(rented and liked a lot but too heavy for the trip and very expensive to purchase for me at the moment).
Any advice will be greatly appreciated and I will not consider buying a second body because my friend will actually take a back up since I convinced him to upgrade his 40D to a t2i :).

Regards H.M.
