  1. If you shoot with flashes where low light is not an

issue. And don't want to use AF-D lenses then put

your mony on decent glasses. Since all dslr,s can

    shoot manual and raw.

It reminds me a session where RED camera was

brought to shoot a scene. But it was kept aside and

all footage were done with canon 5d mkii. I told my

brother that they brought RED for show only so

people say that they are professional. Its you, how

    make the shot

  2. As our friend mention if you need CLS flash, old lens metering, no interest in Video, like all control buttons are out and

MP is not an issue then d300 is the choice

But if you need video, high MP, light weight, then better to go for d3200.

  3. I remember that DXO ranked Nikon d5000 sensore evenly with canon 1d mkiii or iv I belief that there findings are

    astronomical findings

Where they will tell you before million of years that event occurred and after another million will be repeated so no witness

on both side just they produce these reports to keep the cash flowing to them

Get any cam and shot and if you are interesting in comparison do a test your self

Personally I can get same result from both of them just with little tweak in the cameras since there is full manual option

  4. I think it is normal since VR is made to compensate the shake by your hand and it is normally measured by how many

stops you can go up by reducing the shutter speed. Whenever the camera is in tripled theirs shake is out of question and

you can go as many stops high and take the shutter speed to whatsoever you need.

When I decided to buy 17-50 all the reveiws was that the the VC version is less sharp than the non VC but later on I have

found that these reviews were made using tripod.

So there isn't any problem with your lens and enjoy shooting.

  5. Those that are expecting 7d mkii or 70d don't be hurry they will use the same sensor. As they can make profit with only changing the name. I

think canon are loosing the market for nikon and sony alias

  6. This is obvious when people change from

one cam to the others. I have 7D and its the

first cam after nikon set. And I m extremely

happy with and doing great with it. I know

you can blindly change the setting with you

30D and that what hold you back. But play

with your tools and you will not look back

just you have to spend some time.

In one of my trip I was using my 7d and one

guy ask me to take a picture with his 60D

and it was on auto. When I tried to change

the dial to manual it was locked and I didn't

know how to do it because I haven't used it

    till that time.

  7. There are very positive posts but I have

used d700 with nikkor 24-70 Af-s and the

focus was much slower than my 7d.

If you are doing well with what you have,

use it till it goes obsolete. By that time there

will be dozen of cameras in the market that

are much better that what we are talking

    about now

  8. If you have any AF-D lenses then you have

to go to d7000 or the new upgrade say

d7100 with 24 mp cam. If all your lenses

are AF-S then you can go to d5200

Going to FX needs full upgrade to your dx

    lenses

  9. Dear Hussain, 7d is a master piece and

you should not be going wrong with it

check out your lenses they may be out of

calibration. I am using old nikon 50 mm

f1.2 on 7d and the focus pattern works

nice with me even I am doing it manually.

7d has all the features that we were

    dreaming for long time.

  10. I have canon 7d and I shoot vedio rarely and if I got the same features without a vedio for lower price I will go for it. I know

others will think just the opposite but these are photographic tools and not vedio graphic. In last design Nikon d600 looks

more concentrate in photographic issues while canon 6D more concern about the vedio as they did well market with mkii.

  11. Yes I do agree the kit lens is a good lens to start with but if you in dim light, Tamron 17-50 f2.8 is an option too. I got for

my canon 7D and it is sharp lens and it will cost you apprx 350$ which will make good combination with your d40x or

    3200.

  12. When I jumped from Nikon to canon it was all about noise focusing system and I have decided to go with 50D my friend

who still shots Nikon adviced me to go to 7D as it has 1080p vedio which I don't shoot. But now when I saw the quality of

the vedio and high ISO I can tell you that this cam will do whatever clicks in your mind

  13. I was in photography flash session, we were shooting with d700 and d7000 I tried couple of shots with 105 f2.8 & 24-79

f2.8 the IQ was very good but I didn't like the focusing which was slower than my canon 7D with 50 mm

Nikon lenses and cams are very good as well as canon but the focusing system they are far behind canon.

    It is just my opinion

  14. DX, FX all are equipments set by the photographer. It is very important who is behind the camera and not what is

    attached in the front.

For me I use anything and every thing comes in my hand I am using my Nikon lenses on canon body, canon lens on

Sony and attaché Nikon canon lenses face to face together for macro etc.

One point is that Nikon DX can be used on FX body while canon EF-s cannot be used on FF or EF mount. The reflector

will hit the end of the lens.
