First time using a snoot. Any comments welcome, particularly those

that offer advice on how to improve the photo.

I'm interested in hearing anything specific I can do to improve my

portrait shots, especially with regard to lighting. This was shot with

a curtained window on the right, color-balanced fill provided from the

left. I also tried to use a flash behind for rim lighting, but that

didn't work so well; I'm not sure how to make that work.

This seems to be focused on the closest edge of the petals. it might have been nicer to have the pistils in sharp focus, but the colors are great.

Nice, but I think it would work better if the eye was in focus, too, rather than just the eyelashes.
