Took about a week...well worth the effort and time...same issue

bought a refurb d600 from B and H...came with spots on sensor, lots of them...cleaned sensor (easy)...sent to Nikon for what I hope is a shutter replacement. NO way I was not going to take advantage of this opportunity. This is my 2nd D600...purchased one from Cameta and returned it..tried again, as I couldn't resist the price and quality. Images are amazing...well worth the wait to get it back.

bought a refurbished D600 from B and H a few weeks ago...sensor was a mess..cleaned with gel stick and wet cleaning
kit..easy...perfect now..cost $1399...probably one of the best purchases I have ever made on photo gear...camera is
amazing...comes with 90 warranty, but you will probably have to learn how to clean the sensor, which is really NO big deal
at all.

Hi Anand...fyi, I have a D800 I only use in the studio. I just ordered a D600 as an every day camera, walk around, travel, etc...no way am I going to march around with the D800. I'm not a pro photographer but I am a professional artist. Good luck.

can someone explain to me why I would want this when I already have a D800???? a serious question...

-

24-70 2.8 in the studio...35 1.4 or 50 1.4 or 85 1.8 for everything else...all great...all Nikon..

-

I can't think of anything I own that is sharper than my 24-70 2.8 on the D-800...or more versatile

-

agree...the 85 1.8g is a great lens...

-
-
Have an older 24-85 2.8-4...fine in most situations...D lens
-
snapshots jpeg..serious work raw
-
the perfect lens for shooting my art work...gets it right every time.
-
I have the Nikon 35 1.4g...my favorite lens...
-

super sharp, great color rendition on my D800..love it...good luck...can't comment on CA or focus breathing...

-
A great deal...smart to get this at that price...have never had a single issue with a refurbished electronic item and I own
several.
-
I would buy one in a heartbeat if I didn't have a D800...the interweb is full of hysterical nonsense..worst case scenario is
you send it back if there are problems...
-

5D Mark III...

-

returning this lens...just cannot seem to get any consistent results. I have the 35 1.4 and the 24-70 2.8 and have zero focus issues. My 50 1.4D gives much better and sharper results....the few good images I have gotten are not enough to justify keeping it.

another vote for a more modern camera...

-
D80 works..but Imwould buy a more modern dx camera.
-

so, is there an optimal aperture setting when performing the adjustment?

-

Thanks David. Your comment makes me want to go back and retest all my lenses..might be doing that. Good to know that this is due to the combination of camera and lens and not just a fault in the lens.

-
Thanks..I intend to test it again in a few days
-

Thanks Wouter. That is very helpful. I should add that my D800 was one of the early ones that needed to be returned to Nikon for servicing because of the left side focus point. Perhaps their adjustment has contributed to this. I really have no idea, but the new lens worked perfectly after the micro adjustment. In fact, I have never seen the color and detail in any other lens I own. I shot a few pieces at f5.6 and f8, iso100, on a tripod. Amazing.
