  1. I love callas and was thinking of using them in a shoot I'm doing later this afternoon. Unfortunately, I've been unable to find any in good condition as of late yesterday. Ah well.

Regardless, a fantastic image all the way around.

I love the composition and lighting and the image all around is very pleasing.

There's only two critical points I'm compelled to make; first, is a strand of hair or something across her ear that bugs me. Also, I'm not so sure about the tone.

Two minor points, and the tone is really a matter of personal preference.

  2. I'm in agreement with Charles on the crop and field of view of the image.

Also, I can see what looks like some pixelation or artifacts (I'm not really sure how to describe it) on the model's skin and the background. There are also variations of the shadow on the red area at her feet and the wall that look inconsistent. It would appear the model was cut and pasted onto the background, or vica-versa.

I'm not sure what to suggest, except to be more careful with the post production work details.

For me, while this may work well as an excercise image for a painter or sketch artist to work from, I don't feel it works well as a photograph on it's own.

...with great depth and a lovely, soft tone and pleasing composition. Nudes and landscapes can be a challenging mix.

As someone else suggested, I feel like I want to see it cropped in a bit closer. The model seems lost in the sweep of the falls and rocks and I find it hard to understand what the intended subject of the image is.

Still, I like it. Please keep shooting these.

But not one of your strongest, IMHO.

The light and symmetry are interesting. I get a sense of a continuous flow of contrasts, in everything from the highlight/shadow areas to the contrasting nipples - one inverted, the other not. The light on her torso is quite nice and the shapes created by the shadows are very complimentary. In that regard, I see it as a very balanced image.

However, the part of the image that continually draws my eye is the model's shoulders and neck. There, I find the light and shadows on the structure of her body are the most interesting.....

I can see why you keep coming back to this one. Still, I find much of your other work to have more impact.

All told, one of the best portfolios of the nude I've seen here....

I have to say though, with regard to this one image, I find the electrical box (or whatever it is) on the right wall distracting.

Love the flow and form in this one. I feel the contrast is good, but highly respect Alexis's opinion too. (Hi Alexis - remember meeting me at one of my shows in ATL - back in '04??)

    Another wonderful capture -
