35/2 w/concave front element, but only if you're into B&W, since it sees a decent amount of yellowing, otherwise super-sharp and generally awesome
35-105/3.5 -- got mine for $70 off auction site, great and versatile
55/1.2 ASPH -- hard to describe, but worth every penny (all 60000 of 'em)
17/4 -- love mine, great WA

This might be helpful:

Vladimir, same thing happened to me with exact same symptoms. Canon wanted around $300 to fix it, which is the price of a new one, almost. So mine is sitting on a shelf now. If you figure out how to fix yours yourself -- tell me :)

It's certainly not the best time to visit Yosemite, but it could also be quite adventurous photographically. Trust me, there's nothing like being in the Valley during the first snow storm of the year, but you have to get lucky for that.

I think the GF-1 is a splendid idea. Just don't sell your Nikon before you buy it, use two together to decide which combination suits you better.

I second you trying to shoot just with 17-40. It's the lens I have glued to my 5D most of the time, except for macro or specifically tele shots.

Mountain Light by Galen Rowell -- highly recommended.

Are the best in my opinion.

Keep 5D, save for another lens.

Be aware that DEET can (and will) destroy some plastics on your camera, especially the rubber coating on the grip. After his jungle trip, my friend's Rebel looked horrid because he was using it with DEET on his hands.

Would be fun to see you focusing it :)

I'd also say they started the exposure at the twilight hour, or, perhaps, there was a lot of moonlight that night.

Thanks for all the responses. I'm really bummed I can't use EF glass, but buying into the FD system sound interesting. I'm definitely going to research.
Thanks again,

Hi everyone,
Just joined today, cause I need to know: can I use my canon EF lenses with Panasonic GF-1? If so, then where can I get the adaptor?
Thanks everyone,

In Yosemite you'll only be able to access the Valley by car, most likely, since this year's snowfall is unprecedented (for a while at least) and 120 will probably be closed at the time. If you're limiting yourself to places with driving access, i.e. -- no hiking, then Valley Waterfalls (bridal veil, yosemite, horse tail), Valley Walls (Halfdome, El Capitan, Cathedral), and Valley Vistas (Merced river, tunnel on 140) is what you can take pictures of.
Good news -- you can spend a couple of days taking pictures of the above, and waterfalls should be great at the time!
