Just started playing with a new Insignia lens and it has a Macro

    looking for quailified critiques.

Thank you for your time and advise!

I recently bought a new lens and was playing with it at the zoo....I

prefer nature and animal shots and am trying to perfect focusing on

    the eyes.

I'd would appreciate comments as I would like to submit a few of my

Animal~Zoo pictures into a County Fair.

Thank you for your time....it's very appreciated!

    One Soft Petal

My daughter wanted to pluck petals to make perfume this past

afternoon. We came upon this tine Florida frog finding shelter in this

tiny rose petal before the afternoon rain showers. He was a precious

    find!

I don't have a Micro/Macro lens and happened to play with my 75-

300 mm Macro to see if I could shoot him with greater detail...it was

a play with lenses if you will!

    I appreciate any comments.

  1. On a whim, my family decided to take a dolphin excursion out of Johns Pass in Madiera Beach, Fl. While waiting, the deep sea fishermans were fileting fish and throwing the leftovers. I managed to get this shot of this Pelican after he won his prize and was ruffling his feathers!

I love the detail of the veins in his mouth along with the skeleton of the fish, but also his eyes and feathers......I know I didn't have my camera set on the most advantageous setting to capture focused detail throughout the pelican, so would really love advise on focusing so that future shots are more cleaner....I tried to focus in on his eye.

Enjoy and Thank you for your time!

  2. This was an unplanned shot of my daughter Hannah....she can be such a diva sometimes!

She and her friend were swimming in the pool and they grabbed the hula hoop. Thought between the blue in the hula, blue in her suit, and blue pool water, would make for a fun picture!

Would love some shared tips or comments....I pretty much just use my Nikon 5000 on the "P" setting. I don't consider myself well educated, but I'm trying to learn how to take 'smart' shots!

    Thank you for your time!

  3. Thank you all for the comments! It was a warm, sunny day and a perfect sunset.

Thank you Grayham for a different perspective and cropping her from the extra background...I see I could do both.

Will also try to use the Flash, but was afraid it would distract from the the sunset too....though being cropped would be an obsolete thought.

I'm trying to expand and improve my collection of nature

photographs. Would appreciate some advice or some suggestions to

try that would help feature some of my recent shots.

Playing with a new underwater camera and was impressed with the

colors it captured. Also find this photo interesting with the water

    movement and reflection elements.
