Hello,
I am in need of some help with my camera settings for portraits in a church or indoor location. I mainly do portraits in my studio and am very happy with my studio light results. I have 2 Promaster Studio lights that I position on the sides with shoot through umbrellas and I also have a giant soft box as my focal light. I set my Canon 5D Mark II to Manual Mode 1/100, F/5, ISO 100 and WB to Flash. Then I just adjust the power of my lighting as needed.
Then when I go to a church setting I try to do everything the same, but it's either way too dark or way too bright and I just spend too much time adjusting everything. Do you recommend getting a light meter? How do these work and what do you recommend getting?
Thank you so much for the help!!

Can someone tell me why iPhoto shows that I have RAW CS2 files after they're uploaded, then when I bring them into Photoshop it shows they're JPG's? Did I lose all the RAW data? Help!

I will be traveling to Europe next week and need some recommendations on camera settings and equipment, so I be sure to get the best pictures possible. I mostly shoot portraits and am just getting into weddings, so this is a whole new area of photography for me.
Here's the equipment I have...

Canon 5D Mark II DSLR

Canon 50D DSLR

Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 IS USM Lens

Canon 50mm f/1.4 Lens

Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Lens

Canon 580EX II Speedlite

I'm thinking I will mostly use my Mark II and 24-105mm lens....what camera settings are good for shooting inside museums and cathedrals? Do you recommend using my speedlite or will I be good with just adjusting my camera settings?
Thank you for the help!!

It looks like a flash trigger was supposed to be included with my lights and it was not, so that's where I was getting confused. I just could not figure out how to trigger the lights! They are sending one to me now, so I should be set. Thank you for your help! I currently have 2 flashes with umbrellas and a reflector disk, would you recommend a back light or anything with my setup?

I am setting up my lights once and leaving them there. I just need something to trigger my studio lights. Right now I am currently using my 580EX flash to do this, but I would like to just shoot in Manual mode and disable my flash. What would you recommend doing? If I don't need to purchase a flash meter, I would rather not.

I am fairly new to the photography world and have just purchased the Promaster SystemPro Advanced 3-Head Studio Flash Kit. I'm starting to do more indoor portraits and would like some suggestions on if I should purchase a flash meter? Do these meters actually trigger the lights or just set your camera to the most appropriate settings?
Thank you for the help!!

Light Meter Recommendations
in Lighting Equipment

I'm looking to purchase a light meter mostly for indoor wedding portraits. I have a Canon 5D Mark II with Promaster Umbrella Studio Lights if that makes a difference. I would like something fairly reasonably priced and user friendly.
Thank you,
