I have the same and I am using it with my D7000. Two thumbs up for this one. I have the Tokina 11-16mm as well and build quality is excellent on both the Tokina's I have.

I would like to get some input (AF Speed, Sharpness etc) from those who are currently using D7000 + Nikon AF 80-200mm 2.8 D lens (two ring version) combination as I am considering adding this lens to my kit. This is mainly to use for indoor events, like my sons school concerts and may be some indoor sports events. I have a Nikon 70-300mm VR, which I use for outdoor events and I am happy with the results. I would love to have a 70-200mm VR but right now it’s out of my reach. I am from Canada and I checked with my local Camera Store for this lens to take some test shots but they don’t have this lens in stock. I can get good quality used lens for around CDN $800.

I have both Lens and I totally agree with Robert's comments. I use 18-200mm with my D7000 when I travel and sharpness of 70-300mm is much better at longer end comparing to the 18-200mm.

Mmmmm ... 200 pictures without noticing that they are overexposed. Hard to belive you didn't notice anything on the display screen (unless you shoot film).

Nikon 200-400mm VR II vs VR I
in Nikon
Posted

I am planning a safari trip and thinking of renting Nikon 200-400mm VR II lens + TC 1.4 as my main lens for the trip to use with my Nikon D7000. When I compare the renting prices there is a considerable difference between VR II & VR I. I just want to know from the people who have used both versions of this lens that is there any major improvement of picture quality, VR etc on VR II over VR I ??
Thanks !!
