<p>hi, this is a simple problem, quality of sigma is better than the past, it won't be easy to lose skin, but focus losing problem is still exist.....pls consider to choose nikon.because a clear and sharp picture is more imporntant than the price. if you will upgrade your camera in not very long furture, pls choose nikon 2470, not 1755. btw, there is a very intersting problem is sigma 2470 is a little bit wide than nikon 2470, you can have a small test in the shop, until now no one knows the reason why the diffence exsit.</p>

<p>why no one recomend af 18-35 3.5-4.5 d???? the lens is great at color and sharpness, also not very expience, performance is better than afs 17-35 2.8 on digital, only the apprence is bad........</p>

if you indoor use, bua a sb800 or sb600 or sb900 is far better!

<p>as I said in another post, very simple， being an user of t 17-50 for a long time, this lens is highly not recomend<br>

1.bad build quality..rubber ring seperated for the body, if you often take on or off the lens hood, the palitic of first glass(for install the uv) can be move by your hand.<br>

2.sharpness on 17-35 @ 2.8 is ok, but 35-50@ 5.6 only can be accept.<br>

3. it looks good with my d70s, but still 10% chance to lose focus, 30% lose focus at my friend's d300<br>

4.color is warm(turn yellow a little)<br>

5.cheap second hand price. RMB 1600.......(new one in china is 2990, contraband is 2300)<br>

6.dusty inside easily<br>

7. color is far worse than 17-55, but the price is there</p>

<p>18-200 also is not very sharp even f11 or f8, I tested in the studio, very GN72 400w flash.<br>

and not very cheap....</p>

<p>18-70 is a outstanding lens, especially in its color(3 ed glass inside).... if you can find this lens in the shop ,pls take it , but I know, it won't be easy for you to find it. nikon no longer to produce this lens for a long time. </p>

<p>if you backpacking or liking shooting landscape, 16-85 VR is best choice for you!!!</p>

 

<p>however, i have hold #2 17-50 for 3 years, i have something to tell you 1. build quality, now rubber round for zoom is separate from the lens.........omg..... 2. sharp graphic on 17-35 @2.8, but 35-50 is poor at f2.8 to f4, f5.6 can be accept 3. color is a little warm, and the tint is far worse than 17 55,not good enough for portrait. 4. very cheap price at second hand, now i can only sell it on RMB 1600......... 5. easy to get dust in......my one is dusty inside... so 1755 is your best choice.</p>

<p>i also use d70s, what i am not satisified is the iso and dymics range, you can upgrade to d3s, iso 6400 is also same as 800 on d70s, but too expensive, it costs 30000 RMB in china......</p>

<p>sigma is disaster on build quality, and focus losing is the nightmare, pls consider 80 200 f2.8</p>
