  1. I wanted to move away from the standard frame that's becoming a cliche. Pushing the frame to the top left corner helps build a diagonal line of vision going in that direction. Or at least that was the intention. A "standard" frame in the middle would serve to draw you into the picture, which has a different effect altogether.
  2. No tape. ;-) I just enjoy shooting in the shadows. I use shadows as a way to frame the picture. It may look odd, but I find that it "holds" the subject better than the edges of the film frames.

    The picture's a bit too big to fit my screen though. And the top is washed out. Probably has more to do with the scanning than the exposure itself.

     

    Still -- a great example of bokeh achieved by a Contax-Zeiss system. Nice work.
