Your underwater photography is very, very good. I've never taken underwater pictures, but can imagine the difficulty. Any tips you care to offer?
  1. Colin, I think I like it. But I also think I would like to see a larger version of the image. Conveying movement in a photograph is difficult. The main dancer is too much a part of the background. I think it would be a superior photograph if you had made the main dancer a little sharper or differentiated him in some other way than colour alone. Again--nice photo.
  2. Did you once have a version of this photo posted with a much darker background so that all you really saw was the face and hands? or was that Ian MacEachern (sp.)?

    Great shot.

Some of your photographs are quite good, but a lot of them are a little too bright and lack the contrast that would improve them further. Try some level adjustment in PhotoShop and re-post a few.
  3. Really enjoyed this photo and the three you have shared with Photo.net. Any way you could repost this with just a little more on the left side? I'd be curious to see how it effects the photograph. Thanks.

Rick, I like your entire Japan folder, but sometimes the colours seem a little too saturated. In some ways, I like the saturated colour, but it is almost as if my monitor can't handle all the brightness. You might want to try a little level adjustment in photoshop. Congrats.

I think the main flaw in this otherwise good picture is focus and the sort of soft halo around the men. Try adjusting the levels more precisely in PhotoShop. A friend of mine did some scans for me with a Nikon scanner, they had little 'light halos,' particularly around skin-tones.
