1.
Hey everyone,
My Canon 1Ds (original) sensor has been filthy for quite some time. I went into my local photography store the other day, and they told me that it needs a wet cleaning. The guy there used a whole pack of swabs, which got a lot of the dust off, but there is still quite a bit of dust there. He told me that if he had more time that he could probably clean it, but he recommended sending it off to Canon to get it cleaned there. What would you guys recommend doing? I've had it cleaned several times in the past with no luck, but it finally seems like I'm getting somewhere with it now. Has anyone had experience with Canon cleaning cameras? I really don't want to waste more money for a poor cleaning job. Thanks!

 2.
Hey everyone,
I've had my Canon 1Ds (original) body in three times at two different shops for a sensor cleaning in the last two months. Every time I get it back, it is still dirty. What can I do? Taking it in is not cheap, especially when I get it back dirty. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? If so, how did you overcome it? Thanks.

 3.
Sorry to double post, but I have been using the LENR function the whole time, or I beleive I have been. I went back and took a 75 second exposure in the same place, and the red "waiting" light went on for an additional 75 seconds after the exposure was finished. When I looked at the picture in the RAW editor, I was by the

 4.
Hey guys. I just received my Canon 20-35 F/2.8 L lens in the mail today, so I was finally able to get shooting with my new (but used) 1Ds body. So far I've loved both, but many of my night shots are riddled with hot pixels. This is very concerning to me, because I have no idea if this is fixable or not.

I remember having a similar problem on my Pentax K20d, which was easily fixable with a handy in-camera sensor cleaner. There is no such feature in the 1Ds. I plan on taking my camera in soon for a sensor cleaning, so will this do the trick and eliminate the hot pixels? Thanks!

 5.
Hey everyone. I recently purchased a new camera outfit to start shooting landscape photography. I have all of my equipment, except for my filters. I'm not totally sure what to get, but know that I probably need a polarizer, a set of neutral density filters, and a set of graduated neutral density filters. I am on a $100- 120 budget, so I'm trying to get the most for my money. I'm currently considering some of the Cokin kits, like the graduated neutral density kit, and maybe the neutral density kit. If it helps at all, my lens for landscape is the Canon 20-35/2.8 L and I am shooting on a 1Ds body. What do you guys recommend? Thanks in advance!

 6.
Hey everyone. Before I start, I want to apologize and go ahead and say that I have absolutely no knowledge of flashes, so please forgive my ignorance. Last night, I purchased a Vivitar 283 on ebay because I thought I was getting a good price on it. Upon further research, I learned that this is a great flash, but it does not always work on digital cameras. So heres my question: will this flash work on a Canon 1Ds, and if it does, does it have to be attached to the hotshoe or can it be used remotely? Thanks!

 7.
Thanks for the comments guys. My budget is probably no more than $300 or $350 at the moment, and yes I am considering used glass. In fact, all of the lenses I am considering at the moment are used. My reason for going full frame is so I could go super wide (like beyond 24mm) but if the image quality will suffer than maybe I will reconsider. What else do you guys recommended?

 8.
Hey everyone. I recently purchased the original Canon 1Ds. I'm looking to shoot landscapes mostly, so I've narrowed the lenses I'm considering purchasing down to two: The Sigma 17-35 and the Tamron 17-35. What do you guys recommend? Are there any other lenses in the price range that are better (PLEASE don't recommend the 17-40L, I don't have that kind of money!)? Thanks!

 9.
Alright, so I finally settled on the 16-45 lens. Now I'm considering a 50mm. I understand that I can use older Pentax lenses on newer bodies (K20d), so if I was to purchase an old manual focus 50mm, would it work alright on my camera? Which ones do you recommend?

 10.
I was assuming the kit lens would be fairly cheap, but I think I'd have to get the Mark II, which would cost me about $150 instead of the $60 I was expecting to spend. I think I'm just going to go with the 16-45 and save up for the other items. Thanks for your inputs!

 11.
Hey everyone. Today, my Pentax k20d (body) arrived in the mail. Now after getting a feel for it, I'm going to go purchase a lens.
But which one?
Here's my dilemma: I have about $280 I'm willing to spend. I want to purchase the 16-45mm, but then I would only have enough money for that and nothing else. However, if I purchase the cheaper 18-55 kit lens, I will be able to purchase a large SD card, the battery grip, a tripod and possibly a case (I currently have none of these, except for a 1gb SD card).
So what should I do? I really like the idea of having a nice lens, but at the same time I would like to have a battery grip and a nice case. If you were me, what would you do?

 12.
Are there any alternatives to the DA 16-45? It seems great for what I need, but it might be slightly out of my budget, and I cannot find it used anywhere.
