  1. <p>As always, great work everyone!<br>

Matt, so glad you followed through on your "threat" ;) - yet another beautiful shot of a gorgeous pup!<br>

Allan, I love your photo of the cyclist - the expression really captures the moment perectly.<br>

This last week I spent some time slogging through some images taken last Spring during one of our Schutzhund club's training sessions. My contribution this week is of a nice working line German Shepherd practicing a "hold and bark" on the decoy. </p><div>00YtaR-369679584.jpg.06c18345b48bf25d4abfef9707606c1d.jpg</div>

  2. <p>"Ever used food as an important Nikon accessory?"<br>

Usually Jax gets a toy as a reward for sitting patiently for a pose, but as seen, food works just fine as a Nikon accessory too!</p><div>00Yr2H-367067584.jpg.11f2724825f732a2603d8fbcb643e0d8.jpg</div>

  3. <p>Matt, that brought a tear to my eye - what a beautiful Christmas gift.<br>

I haven't had much time to play with lighting as I had hoped, but tonight we decided to do a quick impromptu shot of us and the dogs, as my one older dog is slowing down and we don't have many pictures of the 4 of us together. Much to learn yet with the new strobes (and probably not the best choice of lens and settings!), but I'm happy nevertheless that I got one where the dogs are actually sitting still. 10 seconds on the timer (oh how a remote shutter would have been nice!) was cutting it close but trying to keep the attention of 2 dogs at 3o seconds was simply not in the cards tonight!<br>

Happy Holidays to All and see everyone in the New Year!</p><div>00XvlU-315397584.jpg.48ff78eaa114e93827a9392eb49d7ae8.jpg</div>

  4. <p>Happy Wednesday to All! As always, a fabulous array of work by everyone. I mentioned quite a few months ago that I was hoping to acquire a couple strobes to start trying my hand at some studio lighting. Well....I finally took the plunge! Though I had my eye on AB's, I decided to give the Elinchrom BXRis a go. I have to stay I was very very very hesitant (perhaps intimidated is a better word!) but overall, for my first attempt I managed to muddle through *somewhat*...I certainly have a huge learning curve ahead of me but oh wow - this is gonna be FUN!! Now to order a much needed meter! </p><div>00Xtyc-313919684.jpg.740345fee903c449561ae22177909bfe.jpg</div>
  5. <p>Happy Nikon Wed everyone! As always, great contributions everyone!<br>

It's been a busy semester at work, so haven't had much time to put the Nikon gear to use. Today I probably really should have been working on wrapping up some end-of-semester items on my to-do list, but I decided to head out and bring the camera along on the daily dog run. Snapped a few just before the sun started to go down...it really was such a beautiful day (although a bit cold with the wind chill) but the dogs were happy to stay put for a few minutes for a couple of poses.</p><div>00XrX2-311697684.jpg.f278c64b3e2f6ee52632ca3129afc399.jpg</div>

  6. <p>Looks like Wednesday is off to a great start as usual! Thank you Doug, Jeff, Martin, and Tony for your mention of my contribution last week. As I've been fighting a nasty cold over the last while, my photo for this week is from last month when I was working on improving my shallow DOF technique. As usual, one of my canine companions gladly endured the session in exchange for some treats and toy fetching. I find that this gal of mine blends in so nicely with the autumn surroundings, but then again, I am a bit biased when it comes to my dogs ;)</p>

  7. <p>I've really been wanting to get out and grab some pics of what's left of the last of the leaves that remain on the branches. Few remain, but there are always a few that cling on with what seems to be a bit of extra determination. </p><div>00XR6R-288047584.jpg.1780934f5a6cc54db84a770c4742dad4.jpg</div>
  8. <p>I always look forward to Nikon Wednesday to see everyone's great work. Saw this driftwood on the shore when driving over the bridge on the way home so took a few minutes out of my commute to pull over and grab a pic. </p><div>00XOOe-285685584.jpg.6766454b14128aae1d3b47bfec9091cc.jpg</div>
  9. <p>Happy Wednesday everyone! Great pics so far - can't wait to see more. It seems the dogs always work their way into whatever I am doing - this time was no exception. As I was I trying to get some shots of what's left of my back garden, Brodie figured there must be something really interesting in there that he was missing out on, so he had to come investigate. In the end, I quite like how it turned out - he kind of blended in quite well! </p><div>00XL5j-283173584.jpg.79aa93f34b5615d919231fc1f9c15eb2.jpg</div>
  10. <p>I decided to try my hand at getting a few shots of my gal doing some dumbbell retrieve work during our Schutzhund obedience training. This meant having to race back to the camera after throwing the dumbbell in an attempt to try to catch her on her way back towards me - that in itself was an adventure!</p><div>00XI1z-280993584.jpg.3f71660349c859fa612c85e72a23a1f1.jpg</div>
  11. <p>Still Wednesday here as well in Beautiful British Columbia. From down the road, a nice little secluded boggy area by the lake. Sure was wishing I had my muck boots as I made my way closer to the edge to get a shot of this branch!</p><div>00XCYX-275851584.JPG.f685726d3c1d06e9c096ff62289305c0.JPG</div>
