<p>Is it really P7100, not D7100 you are considering? With P7100 you can't use your old optics.</p>

<p>One good technique is thumb focus. Set the AE/AF lock to focus and take focus of from shutter. Then you can compose very easy after focusing to the important point.</p>

<p>I have Nikon 1V1 +Ft1 an have used it with Nikkor 55-300 and 70-300 AFS and if works quite wel. Of course not as well as D7100+Sigma 120-300+ TC2, but reasonable good. The AF works ok. This combo (1V1+FT1) don't work with Sigma or Tamron vibration reduction lenses! You can see the picture, but there is text: Lens not attached, and it will not fire. But your uncle has 55-300 and it is Nikkor lens I presume, then it works.</p>

<p>I have brand new LR5. It stops working quite often for tens of seconds and then goes on again. Other have same issues? LR4 had no such difficulties. The hole computer stop then and no other program can be used.</p>

<p>I had problems w my 18-200, too. It wouln't focus properly for distant objects. I had it served in a authorised company and it works fine now.</p>
