Same question, Colin.
What a wonderful contrast! That's the ideal way to use wide angle! I love this.

Simplicity of the image appeals to me. The awkward angle of the masts of the boat speaks for dynamic nature of the serene portrait. Nice job!

Fine art might be the closest category, but I am not sure. I want to
leave the reviewers to decide. Only thing I know is that I wanted to
represent the peace of home.
This was one of the peaceful evening before going to bed. The
available light source was only the table lamp. I blowed on the lens
to make a temporary soft-focus effect and decided when to shot as it
fades. Used photoshop for cropping from the left. Any comment will be
appreciated.

In a sunny fall afetrnoon when eyes automatically go out into the
leaves high above around, a lonely reminder right close to my
feet awaits. Busy as it was, nothing was pre-arranged before the shot.

Thanks Malcolm, for sharing this dream photo. I think the key element here is the way things can take shape in unimaginable way. I am wondering how you visualize the effect before the flash freezes the action!
I downloaded the picture and fooling around with it for a couple of hours in Photoshop. I made a tentative cropping. Then noting the color area ratio, I was tempted to vary the colors closer to two classical color harmonies: yellow-violet and orange-blue. Please click the "Waterdrop" below. The forth one is after desaturation. The original is on the left upper corner. I beg excuses from Malcolm for this childishness.
