At first, I passed this photo by.

Only viewing the thumbnail it wasn't anything.

Then I saw it for what if really is, a great photo.

    I enjoy it a lot!

Good start indeed... Although I'm guessing your only new the photo.net, not photography :)

I think you could've stepped down a couple of stops in iso and still had a crips image with less noise though.

    But I could be wrong.

  1. I have to agree with Laurent Jaussi,

The photo by it self has no real context and does convey a disrespectful undertone.

I'm not accusing you of being disrespectful, just rather that the photo has that undertone.

Also I have to say it didn't envoke a emotional responce from me, not that I think you care if I have a emotional responce or not.

Call me jaded or whatever but this photo doesn't move me to action.

Is the child sick or are they burns from abuse?

Living conditions, I haven't a clue... Until I look at your body of work and then I get a idea.

However one shouldn't have to look at the body of work to get the context, the photo should stand on it's own.

  2. I like the idea but would like to see the contrast taken up and a little darker too.

But you need to get the dust or whatever the black speck on the photo is.

You could do this with PhotoShop or some other program like it.

    Anna,

I don't know how you photograph yourself so well... Black magic?

    But well done.

I think the fact that the top of your head is cut off on the bottum draws the eye up to see you, not your reflection.

And isn't this what we all really want? To be seen for who we really are.

Lovely, lovey hair, don't cut it;)

I'm unsure what you've done to deserve the imput of Mark Chartrand but whatever it was I'm sure you regret it;)

    Mark, lighten up dude.

    You're overly critical.

Perhaps we could see what the masters in photography and teaching it as well has done for your craft?

And before you say it I know I have nothing posted as well but I also just became a member and haven't gotten any up yet.

Anna keep it up, you're doin' a great job.
