The original sans photo.net artifacts can be seen on my website.
This is the closest I'll come to product photography: selling my own motorbike on eBay. I was delighted with the way this one came out because of the intensity of the backlighting. It looks like I put the bike in a one of those white rooms Apple Computer's ad agency uses, but the location is in fact on a public sidewalk. I also enjoyed the complexity added by the reflection of the wheel's shadow.

Another learning-from-experience photo. This whole scene is just as grey as it can be. It would have been a more interesting photograph when the next wave came up, but by that time the game was over. Again I was glad to get a good white in the highlights.

The film is playing some tricks here, which is actually the only reason I find this photo interesting. The scene is sunlit but with a heavy overcast. In person, the ocean looks grey, not blue. Also the subject is not really pink. I was just really happy to have gotten a solid white from his Gi.

The wide angle was a good choice. I just like looking at this picture. I don't agree with the previous comments about fill flash -- there seems to be plenty of detail in the grass in the shadow of the bale. I know the film is just playing to my eyes, and there is no way on this Earth that the blues and greens are really this strong, but it makes for a pleasing photo. 7/7.

A competent shot of a really lovely subject. The spherical distortion makes this seem like a tiny planet! The light falls off considerably at the bottom of the photo, which is the only thing I don't like about this one.
