  1. I'm not sure what to think of this picture. The technical side is good, there's good balance between ambient and fill. But there are some distractions; some of the grass interferes, the pose doesn't appear comfortable, and the combination of model and environment lacks credulity.. this is dress for sipping cocktails on the beach, not for running across the pampas..

I think you're on to something original here, but it looks hastily executed.. A true contact sheet wouldn't show anything outside the frames, and would have texture in the frame boundaries. You can get 12 6x6's on a 120roll, so you can comfortably and convincingly cover the lower sixth of the picture.. The concept is good though, and with a little tweaking would give a splendid end result.

Very nice near/far picture.. I wish I could see it in a single go in my browser; I've got to scroll a bit up down, which takes away from the impact a bit. But the picture itself is perfect!

Interesting colour palette; I'd have thought it was a false colour photo, if it hadn't been for that little dab of green in the lower left.. Composition works well too, with the right two flowers frames by the larger leaf..

Not bad at all if these are your first forays into mushroom photography; your technique is good. Just a hint though; when doing these kind of shots, pay attention to loose twigs and leaves like the one diagonally across the frame. If you remove these before tripping the shutter, the image would be even better. That aside, a well executed picture!

Definately crop.. to square. And equally important, add a black border. I've never made a mushroom photo work without black borders. They're always located in the darkest of places themselves, and the eye has a habit of seeking the lightest areas..

I like the idea, but I think the execution could be much improved. When symmetry is the topic, it should be perfect. Here the center is slanted, which is robs the picture of its impact, and the high lights are blown out giving it a hastily and uncarefully carried out sense..

Shows that you don't really need photoshop to create unusual effects and striking images: I personally find the road to get there as important as the destination...
