1.
I purchased two 1D bodies to use for sports a couple of years ago and they outshine my old 20D bodies ( which have both been sold BTW) as far as image quaity and snap for images. Plus, I shoot with strobes in basketball and nothing beats shooting something at 1/400 sec toally freezing action and there's a difference from 1/250 sec. My editor is happy and it's capable of making great 16x20 prints. To those who feel one needs to upgrade when a new model comes out, you could be wasting time. Besides, great images came from photogs with camera without lightmeters and 8+ fps.

  2. I had tried out a D60 and had that yellowing problem, quite minor, and wondering if anyone else had those problems. Easily corrected in Photoshop.

ALso heard about lens incompatibility on third party lenses. I have these tokina lenses: 20-35 2.8, 28-70-2.8 and 80-200 2.8 ; and a Canon 100-300 5.6L( expect no problem from Canon Lenses) and would want to keep using those.

I may step up to the 10D and stay reasonably current.

  3. I'm considering stepping up to either a D60 or a 10D. I've heard of

lens incompatibility problems with the 10D, and the yellowing of

images from a D60( tried oone out and this happened)

Any suggestions on which to try? WHat are the strengths and

    weaknesses of each?

  4. Jammey,

"Ooh, and you would need to ALWAYS set the camera to a +1/3 EV since, for some odd reason, it would always underexpose if not composited for. Kindest Regards, Jammey Church."

I have tried out a D30 and noticed the +1/3 EV "problem". Boggled my mind why that was necessary. NO such problems on a D60.

I have a 540EZ flash for my older EOS cameras but for the D60, I purchased a the Sigma 500 DG flash which is a lesser equivalent to the 430EX flash.

  5. Hi there

I own a Canon 7, which is almost identical to the 7s, and love it! I have a contax IIIa which is not quite user friendly but the 7 is. I have a Canon 50/1.4(late) lens with it andis tack sharp.

Only downside to the 7, was fixed with the 7s, is no hotshoe attachment for the top of the camera.

Make sure the 7 or 7s you're buying has a shutter curtain in good condition. They're prone to wrinking after many yrs of use.
