1.
Thanks! Trampoline works -
One thing:
"just take the shot when she is going down" - I did it a lot.. but I need her to "Pose" - like a .. hmmm... "Sittingon the air" or some horizontal position.. Most likely model will not be able to land on her feet. Like Jump and land to the side. Anyway, whatever she does - I have to provide "Safe landing :-)
I know I can do a lot with Photoshop or Green Screen. - Just thinking if it is possible to do it "In Real time"

  2.
Hello all.
I need to make a series of photos where model have to jump from some height - like 4 - 5 or 6 feet -> pose -> and land safely with no Injurie worries ... Need to be really soft mat system. Possibly air or a lot of soft foam.
Any ideas where to get this kind of "Landing System" ?
Preferably it need to be easy to transport and take to the studio or location.
Thank you !

  3.
"I set the camera as you recommended, shot at 1/100"
No, no ! 1/100 is not fast enough! - try to stay faster then 1/250... like 1/500 or faster for 200 zoom.
ones again, You easily can get bleary pic on 200 because of camera shake - with 200 zoom it is critical !!! Zoom 80 - 1/200 or 1/250 should be fine...

  4.
D700 is a good choice. I just used it for fashion show .. about 2 weeks ago.
Your settings: its depend on how you are going to use photos. If small print and Web size - you can use Hi ISO - up to 1600. D700 handles it just fine......... but your monopod can help...
(I try to avoid monopods because I like to move around a lot when I shoot.)
shutter speed of 1/200 or 1/250 - can be critical and not good enough for 200 zoom. You easily can get bleary pic on 200.
Why Shutter Priority and Auto ISO ? ... I would recommend Aperture Priority - set it to 2.8 or so, and 1600 ISO if, as I said you don't need large prints.
Can't say anything about AF. I use Spot (bottom choice) or Dynamic Area- depends on situation. But I am not an expert :-)
All above is just my experience. Everybody have their favorite settings and preferences. :-)
If you have more questions please e-mail me. We can talk over the phone.
Good luck Alberta! Let as see your shoots.

  5.
I never had a problems to make a model comfortable and relax.
I think this not about what you say, this is how you communicate with her. Make a jokes, show her how you would pose if you would be her... never say what she is doing something wrong.. opposite - say that she is just perfect and amazing .... "but... to do it even better - she need to try this or that..." in other words make photo session - FUN ...
But sometimes it's just does not work. I had one photo shoot like that. Girl's mom wanted her to be a Model. so mom pushed her for the photoshoot... and...... nothing helped. from the beginning girl was very sad and offensive.. just because she didn't want to participate. :-)
so, my first remark 'I never had a problem" - probably wrong ;-)
-------------------
all above is true for not professional models.

  6.
I know it's hard... there is no clear border beetween some genres... such as Fashion, Beauty, Editorial and etc..
Even well known photographers doesn't have clear separation in their portfolios/websites. Photo can be Fashion and Beauty at the same time, .... And portrait can be done with Fashion Elements.. Glamour or Fashion - hard to say sometimes...
But anyway, does anybody know initial definition for Gendes like Fashion, Beauty, Editorial and Glamour.
any links?
--
BTW, it's so sad this website has Fashion only... I think that only about 20 persent in this category is real Fashion.
7. Pro Ethics and $$ Question.
Portraits, head shots, family and any event photos.

Now my

customers ask for CD with files very often.
And I always feel

like I don't really want to give my files away. Here is a couple of

    reasons:

1. I don't like when somebody print my photographs

because I can't guaranty quality this way.
People usably don't

know how to print it right way.
Bad printed photos can affect my

reputation. There is still my name as a photographer there.
So

this is about my responsibility and reputation.

2. Printing - is a part of my income and I simply loosing money

when I give my work on CD.

.... But when I think from my

customers point of view.... Looks like it is unfairly to decline this

request if they pay for shooting and editing.
They paid for it and

why they can't have a CD?
Also I have a risk to loose some customers if I say NO.

------

Could you please share your experience and thoughts about this.
And if you give CD to your customer - what will be a fair price?

I think this is more then just cost of CD ....
