Hi my friend, my pinion is that You are doing the correct, to send your lens with the experts, as You know the equipments are very delicates and expensives and I think you don´t have the necesary tools neither the knowlege for do it by your self, You have to take care your equipment, haven´t?

Hi, I can recomend you the Sigma Lens, In fact I have one for my Canon EOS XSi and I am a beginner too, mine is 70-300 but there are big varity and those are cheaper than the originals of Canon, in my experience I have found in this lens a good ligthing and sharpness, if you want, you can see my portafolios and You can see some works with this lens, may be the pictures aren´t good but is due to at the photographer, but the main idea is that you check the funtionality.
