Please advice which one is suitable for D3000
also at reasonable price.

I have couple of questions:

Does anybody has experience with D3000 Rangefinder using it for non-AFS lens (e.g. 85mm f/1.4 AF)?
How effective is it? What's the problem you encounter?
Because I am thinking to get 85mm f/1.4AF but not sure if I should wait for the AFS version of it.

On what situation the electronic rangefinder is useful instead of the autofocus mode?

Is there a term for time required from the point we press shutter
to the point where we can view the result in the screen?

I found D3000 is quite slow for that. Is this a known issue?
What's the fastest shutter-to-view time for other Nikon DSLR?

I am surprised nobody suggested Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6! Fabulous lens.

Given two lenses of the same focal length (say 30mm)
but two different apertures: 1.4 and 1.8.

On what condition/shooting type, the f/1.4 is preferred to the other or vis versa,
apart from subjective preference of more blurred background?

I heard my friend said there is fundamental difference
between the two. For example 50mm SLR lens is equivalent
35mm DSLR lens and not 50mm DSLR lens.

Is it true? If it so what is the explanation behind this difference?
Any reference/urls for this?

I envy Canon that has EF-100mm/f2 lens. I wonder if such equivalent
lens exist for D3000 (no AF motor)?

I am contemplating Nikon20-700 f/2.8 or 105mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Micro.
but for both the aperture is not high enough to be comparable with the above mention Canon lens.
Sigma/Tamron doesn't seem to have the category I am looking for.
I intend to do night shot portrait with bokeh.

Thanks so much all, for the truly enlightening advice. I appreciate that.
@PeterHam: The other lens I have other than Nikorr DX 35mm/1.8f is SIGMA 10-20/DX-HSM f/4-5.6.

Thanks so much both, for clarifying my doubt.

I own Nikon D3000 which is known not to contain autofocus motor.
Can Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM work in that condition of
no autofocus motor?

Because I realized that only AFS type lens can work on D3000,
I'm not sure entirely whether Sigma 10-20mm is AFS or AF.

Thanks Matt, first of all 85/1.4 do have AF version http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-85mm-Nikkor-Digital-Cameras/dp/B00005LE76/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1257779421&sr=1-1.

My intention is to shoot outdoor, both at daytime and at night,
for mainly moving object or persons.

Is there a way to do it? Say I want to move my posting
from Nikon to Canon forum section.

I currently own DX 35mm/1.8f with my D3000.
I must say this lens is truly a fine one.

Now I am contemplating to move to tele family of lens.
And seriously considering Nikon 85mm/1.4f.

Do you guys think it is worth it to getting 85mm/1.4f after
having own 35mm/1.8f? Or should I consider other type of tele lens?

I am using Lightroom 2.5 under Mac. Currently I navigate the Presets in Develop section using mouse.
Is there a way to navigate them using keyboard Up and Down arrow?

At least that doesn't seem to work for me.

Does anybody has any experience as which wide angle camera suitable for D3000?
Most of the review I found is on older version of Nikon DX camera.

I am thinking to get a Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM,
but not sure if it can work well with D3000.

Whereas Nikon 10-24mm / 12-24mm is way to high price for me.

I'm glad with my Nikon DX 35mm/1.8f PRIME lens. It is affordable
and has good quality. I wonder if there is such equivalent for wide angle lens.

I am the first time user of this wonderful lens.
What's your favorite and suggestion for the UV Filter
attachable to this lens?
Sharpness Difference Of Two Lenses At The Same Exposure (Nikorr 50mm f/1.4 vs 35mm f/1.8)
in Nikon

When we compare 50mm f/1.4 and 35mm f/1.8
at f/1.8 exposure, which lens is sharper?
