  1. <p>Used is a good way to go for your first foray into digital SLRs but you may be forfeiting a good warranty, and camera repairs are EXPENSIVE. I would suggest starting with the D90, learn the ropes without breaking the bank, then when you're ready, because it's a very current camera, you can sell it and upgrade to a 300s or 700. You can also experiment with video with the D90. You're on the right track with keeping your 55, which will remain a great portrait lens on the digital body, and the addition of a 70-300 is typical. Just consider what you shoot.</p>
