1.
I am having problems figuring out how to view the photos I edit in Photoshop Elements. It seems like once I edit them and save them I can not find them in anything but PSE. I want to be able to view them in my iPhoto library so I can view them full screen instead of in the little box in PSE. I have tried importing them into iPhoto, but it says they already exist even if I rename them. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Dan

  3. Actually I abandoned the Domke bags and went with a Tamrac System 3. It's fits everything great. A good friend of mine

is a photographer that has traveled all over and he uses Tamracs and suggested I look at their System and Pro bags.

Went to my local camera store (only have one in all of Tampa) and they had them. They carry a lot of different bags

including some Domke's and I was sold on the Tamrac system 3. I have been very happy with it so far, built like a tank,

holds everything I need it to with room to spare and is nice and compact. It swallows up much more than it looks like it

would and I love the divider system it has. I am looking at getting a small Kata, or Tenba to carry when I just want to take

the camera with lens and one spare lens (most of the time my 18-55 & 35 1.8). Also I put a SpecOps strap on the camera

and love it, I mostly carry the camera out of the bag all the time so I decided the covertness some speak of that the

Domke offers is not that big of deal. Check the Tamrac's out and see what you think, good luck with your search.

  4.
I recently purchased my first DSLR (Nikon D3000) and have been looking at different software for editing with. I have a 13" Macbook Pro and a 15" Macbook Pro. I have iPhoto which they came with, but seems very limited in what I can do and in the results it gives me so I downloaded the trial version of Photoshop Elements 8. I do not need all the professional options that full photoshop would give me so I'm sure Elements would be fine, but I am looking for input as to what any of you would recommend I use. Also if you know, how do I bring pics currently in iPhoto into Elements to edit them? As far as to what kind of pictures I shoot, mostly family, travel/street and outdoors/nature. I currently shoot in JPEG, but might eventually switch to shooting in RAW as my skills progress.

  5.
I recently purchased my first DSLR a Nikon D3000 w/the kit lenses (18-55vr & 55-200vr) and am now looking to add to my setup. The next two items I want to purchase are a 35mm 1.8 prime and a flash unit (SB600). What would your suggestions be on what to add next. I mostly shoot family, travel/street and outdoor pics. I was thinking the 35mm 1.8 would make most sense to add next, but am looking for input on what you would think. Also am I ahead to go with the SB600, or the smaller SB400?

  6.
Thanks for all the input and advice, I'm going to stick with the 3000, stay with my plan and look for something better down the road maybe a D300 in a year, or so depending on where I'm at when the time comes.

  7.
I bought my first DSLR last week a D3000 kit with a 18-55vr and a 55-200vr, bought it at Best Buy for $699.00. Yesterday I went into my local camera store to get a bag and better strap for it and they have a D80 Body only on consignment for $494.00. I know you see the question coming already. Do I take the D3000 back to BB and buy the D80 from the shop, or do I stick with what I bought until I'm ready to upgrade at a later date to a nicer camera? I have used the D80 and really like it, always wanted one, but never bought it before they quit making it. If I went that route I figure I would be into the D80 w/a 18-55vr for about the same price as I paid for the D3000 kit. I was planning on adding the 35mm 1.8 nikon lens to my existing kit, along with a flash (most likely SB600). Should I just stay with that plan, or go for the D80 add my prime and a flash then add a 55-200 at a later time? If I decide to return the D3000 I need to do it in the next couple of days before the return period is up.

  8.
I actually saw this review below and really like how the insert was modified to accept the camera with lens mounted.
http://www.cambags.com/nikon/d70/shoulder/domke_f6_desc.htm
I wish I knew how the F-6 compared in size to the F-3X and also if there was a way to modify the F-3X to accept an insert like the F-6 has pictured in the first two reviews. I guess I could remove the dividers the F-3X comes with and put the same divider in if it would fit then modify it like in the first two reviews and add padding to the side where the camera would be against. I really like how easy it would be to access all my equipment with it in the bag this way.

  9.
I took a trip to my local camera store and they actually had a F3X there, I looked at it and it was actually bigger than what I thought it would be and I really did not dig the way it is divided, it did not look like I could find anyway to use the space exactly like I wanted to. Also I'm still not sure about the lack of padding, on one hand I like how soft and moldable it makes the bag, but on the other I feel like I would at least like some level of protection. My concern with the lack of protection comes from the fact that I do not have a pro level body, or lenses and I'm sure they are a little more fragile than the ones that a photo journalist would carry as the bags are designed for. I saw a Tamrac Adventure Messenger 3 that was a great size and I really liked the divider system that it came with it was very flexible and I could see how I could use it with the camera and a lense pointing down in the center, one lense on one side with another under it and the flash on the other side. I did not like how much of a camera bag it looked like and how it bounced against my side/hip when I carried it in the store. So my question is does anyone know of a Domke bag that would be similar, I am now looking online at Domke F-8, F-5XB, any input, or suggestions as to how this would fit my equipment would be appreciated. As for the suggestions of the F-2, I really like the design of that bag and may buy one as my kit grows, but I will still want a smaller bag to take with me walking around and traveling. I would not really see myself carrying more than I originally listed, maybe even less as I learn more about photography, I'm all for carrying just what you need and nothing more when it comes to gear.

  10.
Thanks, I am really thinking the F3X would be a good fit for me, I love the canvas material. One thing I'm a little concerned about is the durability, I've read quite a few posts and seen quite a few pics of Domke bags that are falling apart after 2-3yrs of use. I've read they are not making them like they use to so that concerns me, I want a bag that is going to last and get better with time after use like my Filson does. I have read about army surplus ammo shoulder bags fitted with Domke inserts being a great alternative that will last and hold up to a lot of use. So I might also look at going that route (I wanted the olive color anyways). As for the knock-offs I acn't seem to find one of the F3X, or in green to compare them to. I am going to continue my search and might go to a surplus store to take a look at what they have.

  11.
I have just purchased my first DSLR and am now on the hunt for good bag to carry and shoot out of. After much research I really like the design and discreet look of the Domke bags. I am looking for the best fit to carry the following, Nikon D3000, 18-55 lens, 55-200 lens, 35mm 1.8 lens, small flash unit (SB400/600 any suggestions), a few filters, spare memory cards and batteries (camera & flash), lens cleaning pen, blower, cloth. I do not envision carrying more (qty) than this even down the road to shoot with other than a larger body/larger lenses. I want this bag to be versatile enough to shoot in urban settings, as well as in the field in a nature preserve/park/trail setting. Also what if any inserts would you recommend for the bag? I carry a Filson briefcase/bag daily so I am familiar with the canvas type material and love the way it wears, just keeps getting better with time, this bag will get a lot of use and travel quite a bit as well. I have been looking at the F-3x and the F-4AF as an idea for size.

Thanks,
