  1. <p>As we all know, the Nikon D5000 (and most other DSLRs in its range) can only take mono audio during video recording, and it's very poor quality at that. Unfortunately as well, there is no input for an external microphone. Here is my question: what is a good quality (external) stereo audio recorder that I can use to record sounds while I'm shooting video, and then import them into my computer and sync them together as an external audio track with a video editing program, so that way I can take full advantage of the Nikon's excellent HD video quality, and still achieve great audio quality as well?</p>

    <p>I'm looking for something no more than $100, if possible. There's really no reason to go all out for the effect I'm trying to achieve. I just want decent stereo sound quality laid on top of the videos shot from the camera.</p>
