1.
my previous question: Hey Everyone, I just bought a brand new Canon 16-35 2.8 ii L lens from calumet, when I zoom the lens in there is a noise eminating from the interior. The noise seems to be a small spring being tightened against something inside. The noise isnt very loud, you have to have your ear close to the lens to hear it. PLEASE let me know if you guys have the same issue or not and whether or not this is a problem or normal occurence.

NOW, I have received the replacement lens from Calumet and this one makes the same noise. When the rear cap is off, I hold the lens close to my ear and SLOWLY zoom in, during that movement the noise occurs, kind of like a small metal spring being tightened against something, almost as if its being tightened against a corner.
Please let me know if I am worried about nothing or if I should return yet another lens.

Thanks!

 2.
Thanks Everyone, I contacted Canon and the concensus seems to be that I have a defective copy. Calumet is awesome, they sent me the replacement lens overnight with a return label for the defective lens. Amazing service, if you ask me. I paid the same amount ($1419.00) as B&H, but the service seems a little better.

Thanks to all for your help!

I beg to differ Stephen, my D90 constantly delivers higher quality image quality, which is why I switched from a D300 to a D90, check out all of the "pixel peeping forums" and you will see that my statement is a fact. The D90 does not measure up to my main camera, the D700 but it definitely beats the D300, in terms of IQ.
